All I know is that we have to back Conte in January. The man know’s how to win. We’re very limited but you can see his influence in the patterns of play. Special mentions to Skipp and to Davies (who I have to admit I have never rated).

Good result. Still a way off what Conte will expect but how nice is it to see us playing half decent football again?

A few things to consider:
  • We’re going to need a genuine playmaker in central midfield. Someone comfortable on the ball and able to orchestrate attacks from the middle. Maybe Skipp and Hojbjerg rotate with one another but I think if we want to take games to better sides, we need a quality CM
  • We desperately need another RWB. Really, Tanganga is a CB who can cover RWB, but we need another zippy, busy bastard to give overlaps for the front 3 and cover in defence
  • We also need another WF- the interplay of the front three in this system relies on two quick footed, pacy forwards with Kane in the centre. If Bergwijn is off, we might need two
  • Sanchez looks quality as a RCB. This is the best he’s been since we signed him. That’s what an elite coach does for you
  • Sessegnon could be a right menace as a LWB- I hope we don’t give up on him just yet

Good performance, very good result after very little recovery time for a team that's played more games than other Prem team.
Hope Reggie and Emerson are back soon.

A win and another 3 points putting us back in the mix at the top end but not a great performance. Against a half decent scoring team we could have been 2 or 3 goals down before we got going.
Once again Skipp is our best player which for a young player in his first full season in the PL is pretty embarrassing for the more senior players.

Sess and Doherty looked good at WB when they came on. This is the position we most need to improve on going forward as they’re sitting too deep at the moment.
Kane doesn’t look like he’s ever going to score again.
Conte still has a lot of work to do but at least he’s getting points on the board and learning more about the players and what he will need in January and the summer to make us more competitive.

I know it wasnt overly convincing overall today but if you look at the league games, as a whole, under Conte its been very encouraging.

I do think this squad is lacking but Conte will achieve more than the sum of its individual parts in the interim, and then bigger things when can shape to his liking.

World class manager.

Strange Doherty looked better playing in the position he did so well in at Wolves rather than a rb in a back 4 isn't it?
Oh wait, no its not. Who knew?
Wish we stop buying players and asking them to do different shit to what they're good at.
Davies looking so much better as well.
Playmaker in midfield and we'll be a different prospect.

Wins and win! The performance was pretty poor on the whole.

for some one who is a big critic of his Moura had a good game, Skipp was excellent again as was Davies.

It’s unbelievable to see Davies playing at this level, he seems a completely different player since Conte arrival

On my way home from a very decent performance. Thought Sessegnon coming on markedly improved our threat on the left. He's a proper wing back and well nurtured could be our first team choice in the future hopefully. Progressive, skilful and fast.

Unconvincing convincing win.
Showed more improvement in areas, but also that we're still well off competing with the better teams.

Skipp excellent again in midfield, and another clean sheet though......COYS

Having a cover defender helps him because he can go and be pro-active defensively. He was still going to ground way too often and his positioning was really odd in the first 20 minutes or so although got much better second half. He’s probably our best bet for right now until Romero comes back but he still terrifies me.
