The big difference is that take Bale and Modric out of Harry's team and it would not achieve anything close to what it did. Take any two players out of Poch's team and two others potentially replace them with similar results. The one slight area of concern is a second centre forward to hold the ball up to replace Kane.
The point is that we're now about the "team" Harry was about the "players"

Agree. And whereas Harry's team consisted of largely ageing mercenary/stop-gap type players (brilliant ones nonetheless) like Adebayor, Parker, Gallas and VdV, Poch's consists of a multitude of home grown, young with a point to prove players. In some ways it's a more exciting team.

Simple question - With both sides on top form who would win in a one off encounter and who would win over the course of a season?

Redknapp's Spurs

-----------------------Friedal
Walker--------King-------Gallas-------BAE
Lennon-----Modric------Parker--------Bale
-------------------------VDV
-----------------------Crouch
Poch's Spurs

---------------------------------Lloris
Walker-------Alderwiereld----------Vertonghen---------Rose
-------------------------Dier-------------Alli
----------------Lamela------Dembele-------Erikssen
-----------------------------------Kane
The Redknapp team should have Kaboul for Gallas and Ade for Crouch. And what a team it was.

We had a wonderful set of players then, on paper it looks better to me. As a team, so far, this team looks better and fights for everyone. We had a lot of players who blew hot and cold back then, but could easily change the game in an second

Every player works his bollocks off right now and they're enjoying their football

I'm going to twist the question, looking at Harry's team, assuming Poch had been in charge of that team for a season, the next year who'd have got the best result from it, Harry or Mauricio? If Harry was in charge of our current team for a year, the next year who would do better?

I think Poch's side would win it based off tactics alone. I think the whole is greater than the sum of its parts with this team, at times.

I was one of the heretics @mpickard2087 was referring to who was constantly being derided for suggesting that Redknapp didn't achieve "as good as it gets", he actually pissed away the best chance to achieve something outstanding we'd had in decades. That side (the one with Adebayor, Bale, Modric, Parker, Gallas, King) with a bit of coaching, tactical nous and work ethic could have challenged for the title.

One game in football anything could happen, so of course a team with the talent of VDV, Modric, Adebayor & Bale could win on any given day, but I'd take watching this Pochettino team over 99% of the games I watched under Redknapp and if they played a series of games - say 10 - and put Mason and/or Bentaleb in the midfield and I'd back them to come out on top easily.

This sort of thread just makes me think of all the fantastic players we've had over the years. If we could combine them with some of the players we have now #Dribble# Just imagine having King, Bale, Modric, Carrick and VDV in the team with some of the crop now.

You're wasting your time BC.

It was back in a time where everyone watched MOTD and people rarely watched full games to see the dross.

Selective memories.

Redknapps team wins for 60 minutes and then Pochettinos team makes a comeback in the final 30. The Redknapp 11 folds under the late pressure and loses at the end. The Spurs fans have a moan about the Redknapp 11 losing instead of cheering the Pochettino team for winning.

People are getting bit ahead of themselves and abit disrespectful to that Redknapp team. That Redknapp team did underachieve and even though our current unbeaten streak is longer than Redknapps it did do the following

2012 team - 11 games unbeaten - 10 won - 1 drawn - 31 points

Our current team - 11 games unbeaten - 5 won - 6 drawn - 21 points

We were poorly managed but some of the players we had were immense at the time like Kaboul, who before his knee injury was one of the best CB's in the PL that season, VDV, that VDV of 2012 would still be better than our AM midfield options now. Parker was brilliant for the first half of the season and Sandro was very good but Redknapp didnt use him enough, even though King was past his he still had a great effect on the team.

People saying Modric and Bale would improve our current team but thats being harsh on the rest of the team even though they didnt go Real Madrid.

We are building some good here at the moment but it isn't as good as 2012 just yet but that season went down as one of the biggest disappointments in our recent history due to poor management from manager and chairman

Maybe a more interesting question is where the 2012 Redknapp team would have finished under Poch, and where this team would finish under Harry..?
