Few points.

Fazio - How in the hell he's supposed to settle in playing next to that clown Kaboul is beyond me. And then half the time Vertonghen. Of all the positions chopping and changing CB is bonkers. Verts & Fazio every PL game no matter what until Xmas please.

Capoue - Poor mans Huddlestone. Fans have got hugely overhyped about him. Been utterly woeful, playing in crucial position, for weeks and weeks now. How he keeps getting starts is beyond me, Stambouli not even on bench.

Dembele - Laughable quotes on getting playing time considering performances. Utterly atrocious again. Must be the best looking on the ball, yet useless player on planet. Wouldn't have him in PL for long while.

Eriksen - Always been a bit 50/50 on him from Ajax days. Think stats masked performances in same way they are for Chadli this season. Denmark manager was bang on. For player of his ability his application has been pathetic. Drop him please.

Townsend - Never judge a player on back of decent game vs poor team. He blew his chance yesterday. Even to extent that that could be it for him at WHL.

Adebayor - Dunno what to say anymore. Making him vice captain was a ridiculous decision. Needs ridding along with Kaboul in January to sort that decision out.

Pochettino - Considering didn't play that formation at Southampton and the players aren't working in that formation, err why keep playing that formation. Just play 4-3-3 for the love if God.

For the next PL game I hope Pochettino gives a massive kick up the arse to certain players and rolls this team out: (4-3-3) Lloris; Chiriches Fazio Vertonghen Davies; Paulinho Stambouli Mason; Chadli Soldado Kane.

We need a major change. This clearly isn't working. This lineup might work

Lloris
Naughton Dier Vertonghen Davies
Stambouli Mason
Chadli Kane Lamela
Soldado

I'm always giving out a MOTM or ratings but this is the first time I cannot even give a MOTM, all were poor, some worse than others.

The only people I feel sorry for are the fans and Lloris. Berbatov, Bale, Modric etc didn't want to wait around for us to take it to another level, i'm sure one of the top 5 goalkeepers in the world is having the same thoughts, luckily he still gives 100%

This generally seems to be a good ne. Although Naughton's suspended so unless Walker's back for Hull then it'll be Dier at RB.

But I like that lineup above. It's not great but it's culled the grot so to speak.

My Villa rating comments fit this match too .

Poch(4) is asking players to do things and they are not doing them . I suppose a more cliched way to put it would be 'lost the dressing room' .
We are in a tailspin . Presumably we'll pull out of it eventually . Its lucky for Poch we aren't playing bigger teams because ,as we've seen , several thrashings in a row could cause upheaval .

The conviction we had that Poch (with his glowing references from soton players) was going to improve our players is dust now.
Eriksen(4) , Ade,(3)Kabs(5) Soldado , Paulie leading the charge to mediocrity...even Dembo(3) was worse than I've ever seen him yesterday .

Looking ahead , I can't see Levy backing Poch in Jan . There is no glimpse of light at the end of this tunnel .

Its a case of adjusting expectations for us . We can carry on being outraged ,but that will soften as we get used to our new status . For me that time has already come . I'm not badly affected by our mess so much these days .

No idea where this free fall will end .

Awful. Hard to do ratings, but interesting to judge each player against what their key roles ..

Loris 5. Could have done better with first goal
Naughton 5. Solid in second half. Should have done better I. Build up to first goal
Kabul 4.bad positioning and no leadership
Fazio 2. Awful
Rose 3 defensively awful but one ok cross
Capoe 3 defensively weak, didn't have much to pass to
Mason 3 wanders round tries hard I like him But does nothing to hurt opposition Leaves team completely exposed ... We have got steadily worse defensively with him in the side, even though he looks neat.
Eriksen 3. Just weak
Townsend 0 stupid. Useless player.
Chadli. 6 Our best player by a mile
Kane 3. Missed two chances. Can't hold the ball or link play. Sorry but we are going nowhere if he starts up front on his own

Subs 2. All poor.

Poch. 3. WE are getting worse

Awful

Play Soldado in all PL games. Drop Mason and play 2 strong midfielders to protect back four. Make Vert captain play Davies and pray he plays well. Play Lamela behind Soldado and buy someone to play on the right .. Sod it. Put Lennon there as he knows how to play there
Not sure what the answers are, but pretty sure you don't have them.

Coming right up: Chelsea (twice), Everton, United, and Swansea (who are hardly big, but on current form they'll murder us).

Lloris will be off first chance he gets and you really can't blame him.

Naughton was out of position often, and never got near Bojan.

Fazio won everything in the air and was fine when in possession but, as usual, got turned all too easily and all too often.

Kaboul was simply dreadful in everything he did. I think he's just unable anymore. Shame.

Rose was pathetic. I don't care if he worked so hard he needed oxygen, I'd wager that it was more down to him not being fit enough. Constantjy out of position, constantly poor in distribution and beaten every time by Moses.

Capoue continues to put no effort in and get bypassed by the game.

Mason was very poor and, as BC said, was the cause of Naughton getting sent off. He put in the yards and constantjy tried to both win back possession and make things happen, but he had a bad day. Needs a midfield partner who wants to fight.

Townsend was God awful. Absolutely awful. No need to break it down, whatever one can do wrong, he did wrong.

Eriksen was weak, did not want to so much as stretch for any pass, was pushed around by Stoke and looked unable to make anything happen.

Chadli was our one redeeming feature. He scored a great goal, he worked throughout and tried to make things happen, he actually managed to keep possession and pass well, I won't criticise him for this performance.

Kane was poor. I won't afford him excuses of a poor midfield behind him because I wouldn't afford Adebayor that excuse and I'm not a hypocrite. Frankly, all the energy and willing he's displayed lately just wasn't there, he was clumsy and, while he thrice took up decent positions, he made none of them count. Only thing I'll say is that Ade had a long run without producing the goods, Kane deserves more than one match.

Lamela came on, took one great free kick, was too selfish and lost possession a lot.

Dembele came on and I assume was meant to give us more midfield control. I assume his ability to hold the ball and use his strength was the thinking in his introduction. Can't say I saw any of that.

Adebayor came on, missed a great chance, and continued to not contribute. Not sure what thinking led to him being chosen as our rescuer.

Lowest marks go to the manager. Dreadful. He is repeating the same mistakes. We have three strikers who are not suited to playing alone, so he plays a one striker system. We have a selection of midfielders and wingers who aren't great at funding openings, so he plays with no width and focuses everything down the middle. We have slow centre backs, so we play a high line. Not happy, not one bit. Pochettino needs to learn and learn fast. I can't take much more of his square peg round hole approach, and 4 home losses out of sick, all to sides ranging from mediocre to poor, is disgusting, regardless of where we are in the transitional process. Right now I just see yet another manager who tries to complicate a very simple game, and while I think that he should get a minimum of two seasons (subject to us not fighting relegation), I think we all need to see some drastic improvement.

Huh? Wasn't he kneed in the chest by a stoke player?
