Why do the powers that be in football seem intent on reinventing the wheel. Sometimes the best action is inaction.

Here's an off the wall idea...Why don't we tighten up FFP rules and actually impose the sanctions that were suggested upon it's conception instead of allowing clubs to continue to flaunt the rules and manoeuvre work arounds.

The big clubs are greedy and want more money. So they threaten to leave uefa and start their own competition unless uefa give them more.

Uefa can only change ffp rules if the clubs agree to do so. Even the current rules they face legal challenges any time they dish out a punishment. Look at how many time ac milan have taken them to the court of arbitration for sport. They need legal backing from the eu to strengthen the rules (because they are on shaky ground at the moment).

the court of arbitration for sport ... never was something less aptly named. "the court of getting away with things" would be better.:greedy:

Strange how these teams want to destroy their own leagues. I can’t imagine their FAs being too happy about it. All they have to do is refuse to allow them entry into their own leagues. That would soon put an end to things. Would probably kill off top level domestic football though in the end.

There have been cases, especially appeals against doping bans, where CAS have thrown out the appeal and even extended the ban on occasions.

Still yet to see them take affirmitive action against moneybags football clubs, mind. Got the impression that the clubs who appeal to CAS usually win through.

Think all the top league put out a statement condemning the changes. They can't kick them out though otherwise they will create a european super league and as you say the domestic leagues will die.
They can refuse to change the domestic leagues fixtures though. No extra games and no champions league games on a weekend.
