Sent back from the Dutch squad because he's not fit enough.

Can't say we didn't all see it. Clearly lost a yard of pace this season and just looks generally knackered after 60 mins.

Hope this is a kick up the ass and he spends the next two weeks getting back up to scratch.

I think we need to consider the period of time we are living in at the moment. I've often wondered how it may have affected some players and I wonder if Bergwijn has had his typical pattern disturbed.

Apparently one of those players who has to play every week to get the best out of him according to a friend of mine who loves Psv.

looks fat and injured at the moment wait and see what he’s like by January and if he’s not up to speed we may have to loan him out

a few people in the tweet chain who speak Dutch are saying this has been inaccurately translated, it’s more so that he’s still carrying an injury / not fully recovered.

Yeah I didn't think they'd just out him as if he's a lazy bastard, they'd try and help him so made me think he's probably carrying an injury.

I’m sure we had ITK that Bergwijn has been nursing tight hamstrings for quite some time

Also, he's has a newborn at home, which will impact your sleep and recovery cycle.

It is quite common for players with minor injuries to join up with their national association, be checked there and check in with the coach and international team mates, before being sent back to the club to continue treatment. Move on, nothing to see here.

He's still young. We bought him for the next 5 years in mind. He needs to bid his time and be patient.

A loan isn't the worst idea, but plenty of games this season, he'll play 30-40 games easy.

He has looked knackered after 60 mins since he arrived but at least he could run more and control a ball before the short summer break.

I read that the Dutch management sent him back to spurs because of a groin injury on some news feed from Holland .
The great british press somehow make tis into " he is not fit " " he does not train properly " for me they know why he was sent home but decided the best way to cast a bad light on spurs is " he is not fit " " he does not train properly "
Ah the great british press that has trouble printing the truth even when given the truth from the horses mouth .

Jose said before WBA that both SB & Lamela were out with minor knocks, so I was surprised to see he went to join the Dutch team.

The great British press? Was a spurs site reporting it? No?

He does look bulkier than when he first joined. Perhaps fat isnt the word but bulky and looks laboured at times. Difficult to judge as he hasnt had a run of games and not sure if its because he is injured or just simply not fit enough
