Before I say the following I want to make it clear I love Gio, my 6 years old son had his name on the back of his shirt last season. Was a bit of a let down, but that's football :)

Having said the above, Lo Celso needs to give us more. The player for Argentina is there. I just wonder if he thought he'd be playing for a team with bigger aspirations than spurs, and he's stuck in that mind set....
tonight showcased the potential, but also highlighted his lack of desire off the ball to run and do the basics. I was in the stadium and just felt he could have tried much harder. The highlights might have him as one of the star men, but in reality he needs to do much much more.

He winds me up so much more than Tanguy as he is willing to put the shift in, I just feel like maybe he is caught up in this apathetic attitude which seems to be ravaging our club at the moment.

Gio! I want and expect More! such a quality player waiting emerge. It's like Barca level. Just can't be bothered to give his all for spurs!
Fully expecting those that had a better view to tell me otherwise, but I knoe what my eyes tell me.

Real shame is, just as he’s shown a glimpse of form he’s off to South America and another 10 day quarantine on the way back. What’s the odds he’ll get injured too?

It’s so frustrating.

If we could play against that standard of opposition every week, even Ndombele would look (for 40 minutes at least).

Is he fully vaccinated?

yes he is. i can’t quote a source but over the last intl break chaos i read a piece saying both he and romero were double jabbed (the pieces angle was how ridiculous it is that they have to do a full quarantine with the jab).

EDIT: confirmation all 4 (including emerson) are good to go

Bergwijn, Son, Moura, Gil, Markandy … all WFs. Lo Celso is an 8 or a 10.

Bergwijn, Son and Bryan all play down the left.

Markanday, while I would have like to have seen him at least on the bench last night isn't being given that chance, but could play out there.

I agree LoCelso looks better as an 8 or 10, but he can play out wide on the right.

They’re vaxxed(hope the rest of the team is too) so they can play & train while isolating at the lodging facility. Btw, whose the 4th? Did Lucas or Emerson get a Brazil call up?

Pretty ridiculous policy that if you're vaccinated you have to quarantine regardless of a negative test or not. Seems super over-complicated.

As for Lo Celso on the pitch. I think its worth trying out the three some of Lo Celso - PEH - Skipp. I love Ndombele but I don't think we can afford him going missing for 1/3rd of the game (probably being generous) as he usually does.

So true. It is clear to me he wants to be on the ball often - taking a lot of touches to join up possession and attacking moves. He is not a player who wants the ball into space to run onto - it doesn’t play to his strengths. He has to play as part of a midfield 3 or as a number 10 imo.
