Such an important player. The last two years, in a game where Son has a stinker and Kane couldn't get going, we draw that 1-1. To have that level of experience coming off the bench and taking the one chance offered is massive.

Reminds me a little of when we had Eidur Gudjohnsson coming on for the last 20. He just looked like he had medals in his bag, and I think Bale will be like that, but better.
Eider looked like he had sausage rolls in his bag.

I know what you mean though, he was good for us.

When Bale was brought on I said to my family that I thought he should've replaced Son rather than Lamela, unless the hope is that he will have more space as all the defenders are still on Son and Kane.
Lamela doesn’t really play 90 minutes that often. I was just happy to seem starting.

?

We mentioned earlier (10:47) how former Real Madrid full-back Sergio Reguilon joked that Tottenham have made golf holes for Gareth Bale at the club's training centre.

However, it turns out the 23-year-old Spain international has been the victim of a stitch-up by his new team-mates, who told him that a putting green was installed by the club in preparation for the Wales international's return on loan.

Bale's love of golf was a running theme during the end of his time in Madrid, where he was often accused of prioritising that over his football. A small pitch and putt course has, in fact, been at Hotspur Way since it was built, but Reguilon took the bait.

"What did surprise me is that they've created golf holes for him at the training centre," he said. "They are only short holes but I couldn't believe it. He didn't do badly at Real Madrid and I've no idea if he'll go back."

Bale just seems happy. He’s engaged. He seems like, at least from the outside looking in, he genuinely is finally happy and where he wants to be. Hope it continues and hope he stays at least for next season, hopefully beyond. Will be tough due to wage demands on the COVID effects on our finances but i can hope.

It absolutely blows my mind that we can have any 2 out of that 3 on the pitch along with a very talented grafter (Moura, Vinicius, Lamela) to work and run the defence ragged before bringing on an elite/world level sub if we need to. As long as the midfield can get the ball to them, it's gonna be a hard ask for any defence to handle what's thrown at them to start, let alone deal with the change later on in the game when they're already knackered.
Rather start the 3 world class players tbh

I’d be disappointed if he did a golf themed celebration tbh. I’m hoping he’s too focussed on loving football again with us to be thinking about comedy routines at the expense of his former club.

Football is littered with goal celebrations that haven’t exactly been spontaneous. Look at Klinsmann for example. For me, It’s just a bit of fun that very very many players have indulged in and not had their focus or professionalism called into question.

I didn’t mean to give the impression I’d question his professionalism if he did - obviously not - but I meant that I’d hoped him scoring would result a passionate celebration as his first thought should be ‘yyyyyeeeeaaaasssssss I’ve scored for Spurs!’ rather than be thinking about getting one over on Real Madrid. And I was glad that was the case. Happy for Bale to celebrate golf style in a few goals time.

The only way Bale will do a golf celebration is if he is with us permanently - cant do it when RM are still his parents club - annoying because i really want the golf celebration

He’s back in the Wales squad. I hope they manage him well so that he gets as many minutes under his belt, without risking injury...

Jeez. Would you prefer if he did 50 sit ups as a celebration? It’s just fun doing a golf thing. Be a hoot.
