Almost with an assist for Kane with a header too. It's great to have a 2nd attacker who is strong in the air.

Dont think he’ll start in the league until City or Chelsea. Probably get the full 90 against Arsenal.
Maybe not even then. There are two factors to consider, him building match fitness, it's not just that he is returning from an injury, he is returning from a long time of not playing. Then the second factor, he needs to show that he should be starting. Today will help him, but he will also need to show that in the Europa league.

Very well taken header. He made it look easy, when it really wasn't.

Rival fans (including some of my friends) were scoffing at an older Bale comig back to Spurs; said it was a waste of money.

It might not be the most cost effective way for us to spend money on wages, but Bale gives us that extra 5 to 10% we need to win crucial games. His technical skill and experience sees to this.

The goal yesterday was a great example of the above; difficult goal to score, but he took the header superbly and we come away with the 3pts.

Such an important player. The last two years, in a game where Son has a stinker and Kane couldn't get going, we draw that 1-1. To have that level of experience coming off the bench and taking the one chance offered is massive.

Reminds me a little of when we had Eidur Gudjohnsson coming on for the last 20. He just looked like he had medals in his bag, and I think Bale will be like that, but better.

Just simply have to look at what the return of 39 year old Ibrahimovic has done to Milan. Theyre now top of the league and unbeaten in like 26 games. These players make a massive difference not just on the pitch but in the dressing room. The standards go up immediately with them just stepping foot in there.

I remember when he came on against Stoke away, close to the end of the season. He scored and the away end went absolutely mental.

Off the pitch too it must be a massive boost. People must be upping their efforts in training knowing he is there.

A really important goal that will put to bed any nigling doubt he may have had about getting back into fitness and form.

Really want him to succeed here to show Madrid what mugs they’ve been.

Wanted to see more from him, not just offensively but defensively as well, he was tracking back and defending in the box which was good to see.

For a short cameo nabs a goal, should have had an assist where Kane hit post and nice bit of by-play that created shooting opportunity for Le Celso. I’m over the moon with that level of contribution.

When Bale was brought on I said to my family that I thought he should've replaced Son rather than Lamela, unless the hope is that he will have more space as all the defenders are still on Son and Kane.

It absolutely blows my mind that we can have any 2 out of that 3 on the pitch along with a very talented grafter (Moura, Vinicius, Lamela) to work and run the defence ragged before bringing on an elite/world level sub if we need to. As long as the midfield can get the ball to them, it's gonna be a hard ask for any defence to handle what's thrown at them to start, let alone deal with the change later on in the game when they're already knackered.
