It would seem a bit lax if we've let him swan around in the med (or wherever) for a week if he now needs to come back and quarantine. I doubt he does.

He probably had that holiday already sorted before we signed him.
Not sure how many Barca players would have been around this week.

Hopefully he just needs a negative test and he can start training with the team in the next few days.

While there are certainly differences between Brazilian Portuguese and European Portuguese, they’re not as divergent as, say, Parisian French and that spoken in Côte d’Ivoire. Nuno is from São Tomé originally too, off the Central African Coast, which would probably have its own colloquialisms again. They’ll communicate just fine.

It depends. My wife is Brazilian and really struggled with the Portuguese in Portugal at first, took a couple of months to get used to different sounds.

That being said, whilst Emerson may have a challenge with some words (they use different vocabulary for some objects/phrases) he should understand most of what Nuno says.

It's a bit more like a Londoner and a Geordie. Their accent and intonation can be different and they will sue different vocabulary/slang but generally they will understand most of what they say.

Nuno is a very good communicator too so it won't be a problem at all.

As long as Nuno asks him to run, he doesn't take it to mean stop, it's alright.
