I wouldn't be surprised, but they must have to move the game around for that.
They cant expect us to play back to back games

I assume they have done it with our permission/possibly at our request, and suggests our intention would be to play Under 23 side in the League Cup if we get that far.

Not seeing anything on PL website, or either club website to confirm this though.

Newcastle’s own website still has it as 3pm on the Saturday 26th.

BT do have form for moving a game only to subsequently have to move it again once a team has advanced in the Europa League so wouldn’t be shocked if BT have tried to move it to the Monday but would expect it to revert to the Sunday if we get past the first Europa League tie.

I’m skeptical as to whether Newcastle would want it to be on the Monday as it will cause their EFL Cup tie to be moved to the Thursday (if they get there).

its the league cup game on Tuesday that would cause the issue

Yes but at the moment the league cup game is only an issue if we get past the first 2 Europa League games. If we go out of the Europa League then the EFL Cup game doesn’t need to be on the Tuesday. BT (who are idiots) won’t have looked at the potential fixture pile up for Spurs - they’ll have looked at the current fixture list which won’t include that 1 October EL tie.

The last time we were in the Europa League BT scheduled our game vs Chelsea for the Saturday evening. Then when we got past the qualifier we suddenly had a EL group game on the Thursday night so they had to push the televised game to the Sunday. They won’t have anticipated the EL tie on the Thursday which forces our EFL cup tie to be played on the Tuesday.

I imagine rather than being idiots, they do this on purpose. The games are sold as packages based on kickoff times, with some obviously being more valuable than others. For instance, they'd much prefer to have a Sunday 3pm compared to a Monday 8pm. But if they select a game for Monday 8pm knowing it'll probably have to be moved forwards, I'm not sure they have to pay any extra....

Newcastle game moved to 28/9 for TV, so means we play on 28th, potentially Carabao Cup on 29th, then Europa on 1st October.
Blanket TV coverage might not be a good thing for all clubs!

Spurs v Newcastle confirmed at 2pm on 27/9 (the Sunday). Wherever the Monday info was coming from it was bogus.

Trying to work out how many of our games could potentially be on ‘Premier sodding Sports’, 3 qualifying games / rounds for £9.99? or 1 if we get our arse handed to us by Plovdiv ?.

Then back to BT for the main Europa games presumably.

Wait what? Why isn’t this on BT?
Remember last season Wolves in the qualifiers where on Premier Sports, i asked the same question to a Wolves supporting friend...

He said BT sports has the rights to Europa League matches but only from Group Stage on-wards, its up to the 'home' team to sort out TV rights for qualifiers.

(I've not double checked this but seems legit)

No chance I'm paying yet another subscription just to watch the qualifiers against teams I've never heard of.

Anyone worked out how to watch it through BT TV, can't even see the channel?

Plans to bring fans back in October have been scrapped so it looks like they're going to have to extend the blanket coverage again.

Anyone have a clue when they'll release October TV fixtures? Not sure how far in advance they usually do it but it's only just over a week away!

It was supposed to be September 11th. They must have been told to wait for Boris' speech today so we surely have to get it tomorrow.

In all the years I've not only worked with but followed the PL I can never remember having TV fixtures announced this late. Even during Project Restart it was quicker.

I hope so - it's frustrating, want to book an area in the pub for Spurs - United!
