Maybe its just me but I don't think the £10 BT charge for their sports is that bad a deal and they have a very good app. Ipad/Apple Tv/Xbox and Amazon games are free with prime which works out to 7-8 pound per month I don't see how what BT and Amazon offer could be any cheaper.

Sky Sports bundle is more broad I don't know what it costs by itself [25-30] a month? Is still not expensive. If they got rid of recordings and just made an app for live viewing then they could rid of the dishes and boxes then they could probably bring the price down.

All three use their sports packages as loss leaders. But that wasn’t my point. If you want to watch all the pre,ire league games shown on tv, you have to sign up to all three companies, you don’t get to choose which one you think is best. As such there’s no incentive for any of them to offer a better product. We get the same old coverage with the same old bland pundits and commentators etc.

10m? And the rest! It's currently broadcast to over 600 million homes and has an estimated TV audience of 4.7 billion!
UK only in my figure not disputing yours, also If they launched a streaming its never going to be intended to make less than what they are now

I just don't see how this model is going to change which would be favourable financially for the consumer

Maybe instead of marching against basic human rights the FLA should think about marching for a better deal for football fans from TV companies and the premier league.

I won't be holding my breath.

If you are on EE you get BT included in my contract, this is only on your phone however. If you want to use the BT app on TVs it's an extra £8pm I think it's worth it.
That's really useful information as my phone contract is up soon. Thanks!

The Premier league could allow it as long as they get a fee ,I would think.
The PL would arrange it, not the clubs.
If the clubs sold their own streaming packages, Man U, Liverpool etc would make many multiples of what some other clubs would make....bad for the PL as a competition in general, and a slippery slope we really don’t want to consider.

It's inevitable though

I'd be amazed if Clubs aren't looking at having their own paid live streaming setup for any games behind closed doors that aren't broadcast. I would like to think streams should be free to ST holders and available to buy at a discount for members.

Clubs in the Championship have been offering paid streams during lockdown, if they can do it Prem clubs certainly have the capability.

That’s actually a good idea. I rarely watch any other games other than Spurs. Would love to be able to pay just to watch Spurs

You would've thought people worldwide would happily sign up to "EPLTV" at something like £40 p/m, but then there must be a reason (money, one would assume) that it hasn't happened already.

I agree that the only clubs in favour of being able to sell their own rights would be us upwards (and Arsenal), so that's a non-starter.

Im not sure we would be in favour...we'd be at a massive disadvantage to the 'big' clubs...worldwide the support of Liverpool/Man Utd/Chelsea/Scum absolutely dwarfs ours.

£40 per month - for EPL TV, no way, not outside of the UK.

Optus sport in Aus is $15 / £8 per month, or free on your mobile contract.

Every single game is live, and on demand. EPL, Championship, Champions League, Europa, plus Internationals, plus all the major European leagues.

The Premier League couldn’t offer the whole package, so that’s probably why it doesn’t work globally.

If it happened, it would have to be in a similar vein to how TV money is split to ensure the smaller clubs get a cut too so it doesn’t just make the rich clubs richer and widen the gap.
