I thought only the winner of the FA was given a spot. If that winner is in the top 4, then the loser of the FA final is outside the top 4 they go. The FA cup only has 1 spot to UEFA to give away though.

In short, No. The situation you are describing shouldnt matter. League gives 1 spot, CC gives 1 spot, and FA gives 1 spot.

CC winers only get UEFA cup spot, if winners are in CL then spot goes to league

FA cup winners get UEFA cup spot, if winners are already in or in CL then runners up get it, if both are in already then it goes to the league

It's not totally ludicrous, DeadwoodDem, as no-one knows at this time which League positions will get into the UEFA Cup.

Also, if we were, say, the '4th highest team outside European Qualification' and none of the others applied, we'd get the place. But if we were the '5th highest team' we wouldn't be considered even if we did apply.

While we're on the subject of winning everything and winning cups, does anyone know what will happen if we win the uefa cup, which is possible, then do we go into the european super cup with the winners of the champions league? If we do, and we win that, I think we play in the world club cup. What happens if we win that. Do we get a champions league place? Or am I talking poo?

However, the CL winner goes to the World Club Cup, not the Super Cup winner. So we will NOT be playing in the World Club Cup no matter what.

And thank God for that.

Also, winning the World Club Cup does not affect the continental tournaments anyway, as FIFA organise the World Club Cup and UEFA organise our continental competitions.

it really just depends on which teams enter, so if i am right it oculd go to anyone in the league, but the top team in the leauge who applies for it gets it

It's only the four teams who finish directly below the last UEFA Cup spot who can play in the Intertoto Cup.

So if 6th place is the last UEFA Cup place, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th can play in the Intertoto. If 7th applies, that team gets the spot. If 7th doesn't apply, 8th gets in etc. All clubs finishing below 10th (in this case) who applied will not be considered.

So if none of those four clubs applied England would have no representatives in the Intertoto Cup.

wasnt the 4 places behind the UEFA cup entrance from the league in 2004-2005 season :shrug: newcastle got it being 7 places behind!
