Really? That's quite a low fee, didn't Barca pay £100m or something?

Edit - Just realised you meant he was £130m! Thought you meant they signed a few players for that combined but Coutinho was that price as well.

Jesus

145m euros with addons, but it's a massive flop.

He's also had injuries.

"€105 million plus a reported €40 million add-ons" was the fee at the time, so roughly £130m ish was my estimate.

Griezmann, Coutinho and Dembele were around £380m combined

Ross Barkley joins Aston Villa on loan.

Shows he made the correct choice going to Chelsea for the money rather than us at a time when we were brimming with English talent...

He joins a long line of English players who’ve chased the Chelsea pound rather than doing what’s best for their career.

You’d think people would learn, but greed always gets the better of them.

Everton still spending...(SSN)

Everton have bid £26m (£20m, plus £6m in add ons) for Norwich centre-back Ben Godfrey.

It's funny as this whole chase for Sancho has almost fucked United's window up so far. I find it strage how they're so fixated on him and for such a price, when they really need additions for other positions.

Dembele should leave Barca, they completely mismanaged his body however I'd rather he didn't come to this league because I like him and there is no space at Spurs.

Two words - Ed Woodward.

The man's an ego-driven liability.

Is Sancho injured? He wasn't in the squad at all for tonight's Supercup match vs. Bayern...

I didn’t want to bump his player thread in the Transfers section...

But Patson Daka so far this season:
6 Games
9 Goals
3 Assists

Hope we don’t regret not going for him this summer. Think he’ll go for some big money though!

SSN just did a "5-a-side" from the transfers this summer.

Not even a single reference to Bale.

Surely everyone would take U23 chokehold submission specialist Adam Lallana over Gareth Bale on their 5-a-side team..

I believe we did and he didn't want to leave or something like that.

He'll end up at Leipzig for a modest amount via the Red Bull footballing factory next season I assume.

In the weird way football works, he'll probably end up at Arsenal just so they can have fits about this pic

Especially when Dortmund set them a date to do business by, which Man U have ignorantly ignored.

I find it interesting when people turn their noses at players who chase the big guaranteed money. If someone offered you a gig to earn £100,000+ week to train 5 days a week and possible play in a couple games a month, you'd turn that down because of your integrity? There are no guarantees in the sport, Barkley is literally one more grade 3 hamstring tear away from being a championship player. By signing with Chelsea, he's probably earned enough money on his contract to look after himself and his family for a very long time. We can all have different motivations for playing sport without being vilified for seeking security. The only thing Barkley is not entitled to is complaining about his lack of gametime, he knew what signing that contract could possibly mean for his playing career.

You talk as if he’d have been earning minimum wage had he not gone to Chelsea. Barkley likely already had enough money to support several generations of family from his time at Everton, going to Chelsea didn’t change that.
