Good signing for Villa. They are building quite a good side now. They've made some smart transfers this window that should see them well clear of the relegation fight.

Barclay must be realising what a lot of us were saying before he went to the chavs. Graveyard of talent. It's a career risk going to clubs renowned for mass signings. Sometimes the grass isnt always greener. He took a risk.

A great signing for Villa. Should compliment Grealish nicely.

Makes you wonder how they fit Barkely, Grealish and McGinn in at the same time though...

Douglas, McGinn and Barkley in a midfield 3 and Grealish wide left playing in a more advanced role.

That is a really strong midfield, credit to Smith for building a solid Premier league side.

Ross Barkley joins Aston Villa on loan.

Shows he made the correct choice going to Chelsea for the money rather than us at a time when we were brimming with English talent...

Fat Frank already seems to be moving away from the young, English core that he was praised for during their transfer ban.

I can only see James and Chilwell being regulars and possibly Mount, although he is very overrated imo.

Tomori, Loftus Cheek, Gilmour, Hudson-Odoi, Abrahams will become bit part players at best.

Even James may struggle with Azpiclueta no longer needed at left back.

Mount has played 102 games since 2018, Chelsea fans are pissed he hasn't been given a break or dropped

I think once Ziyech and Havertz are settled, Mount will find himself out of the first team. Or after Christmas once Lampard is sacked.

We're all delighted Mount was playing yesterday though, thanks Frank!

Cracking loan signing for Villa though in Barkley.

Really impressed by Villa's business this summer considering they had an absolute disaster last summer.

Yep, think they realised they came too close to going down last year so needed to sort it out this year. Think they will be ok to stay up now and hopefully get back to being a premier league regular, better than some teams who set up to defend, Villa always seem to give you a game.

SSN just did a "5-a-side" from the transfers this summer.

Not even a single reference to Bale.

Man U believe linked with Dembele of Barcelona now by Sky. If they sign him there is an amusing side show to this. A sell on clause to Dortmund of several million euros that man u will have to pay them as part of the deal. So Dortmund could end up being paid by Man U and keep Sancho. That has amused me!

Dembele who has barely played any football since 2019 due to an injury? Weird one that as surely the fee will be not far off what Dortmund want for Sancho?

I really don't get united's obsession with more AM/wingers

They need an out and out striker or move Rashford there

£50m allegedly.

I think Barca screwed up by buying a load of £130m players that simply weren't worth it.

Really? That's quite a low fee, didn't Barca pay £100m or something?

Edit - Just realised you meant he was £130m! Thought you meant they signed a few players for that combined but Coutinho was that price as well.
