Looking forward, maybe we can get them to miss the 3rd game next month (home vs Peru), but November they play Brazil and Uruguay so unless they're walking though qualifying, this will just keep happening.

Am I right in saying we've only released our players for the first 2 games and not the third? So if the second game is on the 5th September, they should be back (via Croatia) in time for Chelsea at home on 19th?

Its all very messy.

Despite the Premier League's grandstanding statement (which probably didn't help - it read like British exceptionalism), we have zero power to deny a callup for competitive games. It sounds like the agreement is indeed as you said, but only by negotiation - if the Argentinians wanted to just play them in the third game, they could.

The Brazilian federation will get to decide whether they request FIFA ban the players for 5 days after the conclusion of the match window as is allowed for not releasing them. If they do that those players will not be available for the first champions League group stage games.

The poster put Aurier missing our game abviously before he left us.. Does that mean Zaha will miss the game against us as I think both plays for Ivory Coast

Can't believe there isn't some sort of sporting exemption, or something.

Problem with exemption for footballers etc from quarantine could lead to all sorts of complaints , maybe even legal action, many have had to follow the guidelines and as we have seen with England u21's anybody can be infected regardless of being in bubbles. Racing has also been hit by quarantine rules.
