They have to quarantine for 10 days after return to Uk but can leave quarantine once per day to train or play.

Good news.

It's good about the Lodge, but I wonder if any of the 4 will be fit to play Toon.
Their games finish something like 2 or 3 am GMT on Friday morning
Probably get to UK late Friday evening. Next day have to travel up to Newcastle, doesn't seem promising to me
I hope Tanganga will be fit by then, not sure what's wrong with him, because we may need him

I’m sure the club will try to arrange for them to come back after the second match of the break just like last time. Whether the federations will go along with it now that they don’t have to quarantine in Croatia I’m not sure.

Would be fantastic if they came back early, but not counting on it.

Why would they need to come back early if they are not going to miss any games.

Because they’ll very likely miss the Newcastle match if they stay for the third match. The third match is on Thursday evening in South America (early Friday morning GMT) so they’d be getting back the day before we travel to Newcastle, having only just played and without enough time to recuperate before the league resumes.

If they leave after the second match they’ll be back in plenty of time to be ready for Newcastle, and it’s not totally unreasonable to ask federations to do a bit of rotating during a three-match international break. Ridiculous scheduling by FIFA but it’s all been affected by the corrupt winter World Cup and delays in qualifying matches due to the pandemic.

While I of course do not like the winter world cup in a desert dictatorship, it'd be even harder to fit all the qualifiers in if it was due to go ahead in the summer. The problem is that FIFA should have reduced the ridiculous number of South American qualifying games (18 per team!!!) after all the Covid disruption.

How are they allowed to play qualifying games so close to the club’s league matches. That’s utterly ridiculous.

This is going to be a real test of our squad and management skills
After Newcastle away, we have Vitesse away
ATM it makes sense to me that the 4 don't travel to Toon so they're fresh for yet another plane journey on Wednesday
But if Tanganga and whoever else is injured, it might be at least one has to go to Newcastle
After Vitesse we have West Ham and Burnley away in quick succession before Utd at home
We are going to be so stretched. For me the ECL and Lge Cup are just as important as the Prem as they represent realistic trophy chances. But what an awful pile up we are facing. Five games in 14 days, 4 away including trips to Netherlands, Burnley, Newcastle. Plus a short one to West Ham, who will make up for in hostility what they lack in distance, ans a little matter of Man Utd at home to top it all off ????

Read in one of the online papers that all of mainland South America is coming off the red list. Great news if true, but still doesn't solve the problem of our players playing Friday morning

All of Lo Celso, Romero, Sanchez and Emerson to miss the Newcastle game.

The same thing will happen next month too.

Someone has to question the wisdom of signing 2 players from South America this summer. It just seems like another lacking of professionalism and research.

I think it's best all four miss the Toon game. That way they are fresh to travel again Wednesday.
As I've been saying, I think October threatens to derail our season. Gonna take a tremendous effort to keep us in realistic contention for top 6 and three trophies

Not really. It's an inconvenience for a few weeks for I'd just this season against two players that could play a key role for 10 years.

Is that for definite? I had a look at Argentina's fixtures for November and can only see two matches in that break, with the last being against Brazil on the Tuesday. We don't play until that Sunday.

Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about (not bloody likely!), but this entire International situation is disgraceful. If I were Daniel Levy -- and thank fcuk I'm not -- I'd be apoplectic.

But other clubs dont appear to be having this issue. It seems that its us. Other club seem to standing strong or refusing to co-operate. However with us and its been like this for years btw, just freely letting players go off for any internationals when they want.
