It depends who we get in the draw. If we have to travel to Israel , Russia or the Ukraine at the wrong time, it could derail our league campaign, which would have a knock on effect with the Europa league campaign.

EL knock-out round dates and our subsequent league fixtures;

20.02 / 27.02
Norwich (A) / Cardiff (H)

13.03 / 20.03
Arsenal (H) / Southampton (H)

03.04 / 10.04
Sunderland (H) / WBA (A)

24.04 / 01.05
Stoke (A) / West Ham (A)

Could be worse, really.

This the last year that the europa league winners won't get automatic qualification for the next seasons CL so you can guarantee we will win it this year

That's doesn't look bad at all, depending on our success in the domestic cups. Here are the games before it. I Pray the 1st leg of the last 16 is at home against a east team.

One thing is though IF we make the Capital one cup final, we play that instead of Cardiff after the 2nd Leg (which will be away), so I hope we aren't in Israel, Russia, Ukraine etc. If we beat Arsenal & the 4th round team in the FA Cup, then instead of Chelsea on 08/03 we play the FA Cup 6th Round and instead of WBA on 12/04 we play the FA Cup Semi Final.

20.02 / 27.02
Possible FA Cup 5th round / Norwich (A)

13.03 / 20.03
Chelsea (A) / Arsenal (H)

03.04 / 10.04
Liverpool (A) / Sunderland (H)

24.04 / 01.05
Fulham (H) / Stoke (A)

No, what you actually meant to say is, "the comp just shit." You cannot be serious mate, how can you agree with this flawed, money making system? You really want filthy CL rejects in our league? What a joke of a system. It's an absolute disgrace that CL rejects get to join Europa, an ABSOLUTE DISGRACE! If they can't hack it with the big boys, then they should GET OUT OF EUROPE!

Day took are jarbs!

Funny how Napoli think they are above this competition when they were nowhere to be seen during the CL's inception, and only became relevant again a few seasons ago.

I suspect Porto would be massively pumped for it, as well.
Also, Juande Ramos's Dnipro have qualified. I bet he would be motivated for revenge and a trip to the Ukraine wouldn't be ideal. If they lose or draw with/to Fiorentina, they finish second and will be a potential R32 opponent.

I look forward playing against Ajax. Interesting to see our future players, see who we can nick from our feeder club next season. I read the Klasse boy is really good

Gah!

I hate this kind of talk - even in jest - about not only one of the great names in European football but also a club with which we share a great affinity and friendship.

That is very disrespectful of Ajax, a quality football side with a massive history and great youth set up. I would like to see us play them but wouldn't be confident of a win.

Also who is Klasse? Do you mean Klaassen or Jordy Claise who plays for Feyenoord?

If only Ajax had won half the trophies we have, oh wait

PS Real Madrid fans probably say the same about us

All those other teams would kill for AVB to be their coach... guess what, he's OURS... I don't think these are as scary as they look on paper - it's how we tactically handle them on the night, and that's going to be down to homework. Our training staff are grade-A students when it comes to that.

Want Ajax cause I want an excuse to go back to Amsterdam. Might have a couple of quid on Shakhtar at those odds, little overpriced.

Physiologically we need to start afresh.

Gone are the arduous early group rounds we are in CL mode now.

And with the clubs left in and dropped in this is a very credible competition.
