To be fair the ref should have showed a little common sense and at least let them get it into the box - 4 minutes were only just up.

Why give the free kick if you're going to blow up 1 sec later?

I know the answer. Refs lack common sense.

No time was up and he blew his whistle. I hate it when these unknown rules are added: obstruction when the ball is going out for a goal kick, letting the attacking team have one last attack/ not blowing the whistle in the final third of the attacking team when they have possession.
