I don't know if it would have legs at all, but VDB exchange with Toby + cash (on subsidised wages) and Ndombele for Skriniar with whatever financial adjustments would look OK to me. Depends if Toby would want to go back to Ajax yet though. They might be interested in Foyth and Sessegnon but it's quite a backward step for young players at this stage, but interest in Sessegnon might have ignited our supposed interest in Reguilon.

I don't think there are many players in the world that are capable of replicating those numbers. I really think we need some more creatively but I dont think we need to rely on it all coming from one player anymore. To replace Eriksens from from those seasons like for like is almost impossible but if that can be distributed between Son, Lo Celso, Alli, and Ndombele/his replacement then we may end up having a more well rounded and complete squad.

You’re also forgetting Lo Celso and Hojbjerg — as well as Harvey White who is looking likely to break through this season.

I agree, an injury or fitness issues or suspension for either Hojbjerg and/or Lo Celso and we’re back to last seasons deadly duo (for the wrong reasons) of Winks and Sissoko.

Regardless of whether Tanguy goes or stays (unlikely to feature) then we’re still going to be 1 short in midfield. We desperately need a creative central midfielder.

I dunno, judging by Jose's comments this is more of a developmental season for him rather than a break through one. He outwardly said he isn't ready to play in the prem, but he is ready to train with the first team and, essentially, make the numbers in some games. I suspect he'll not play much more than, say, Skipp the last few seasons.

Not sure where you have been mate, but it has clearly been stated that Dier is now a CB (and probably first choice in JM's eyes too), and we also signed a couple of players called Lo Celso and Højbjerg who can play, and in all probability will be JM's first choice pairing, in CM

Ahhh your one of those hope for the best types, no injuries, suspensions etc and all will be fine me personally I have been watching us eek out games for a couple of seasons because we have been a couple of good options short around the team if we get those injuries and suspensions to a few first choice players.

Hojberg and MD are a step in the right direction but lets get one or two more players in and I think we are a lot better placed to challenge for top 4 next season.

Luckily Jose seems to actually see the squad weaknesses vs clearly and has already addressed RB DM and homegrown and lack of experience in the squad issues with Hart so I’m sure he well knows if Ndombele can’t be relied upon that we need at least one body in CM ideally a creative one.

Great window so far, next on the list in order of priority would be:
ST!
CM
LB/CB about the same level of need

Would be an insanely good window Considering lack of budget and covid etc if on top of the 3 we’ve brought in we also bring in a ST, CM and CB or LB.
