Berbatov has posted the following comment on his official website/fb page. Not sure if Sir Alex will be happy though!

"
Because i am tired of speculation,i am talling you this. I read the papers and i see they say 10 million pounds is my price. I go and talk with Sir Alex, and he says to me 5 million..So who is talling the truth, what do you think??..And the truth is, I love this club, but i am not going to be useful to anyone, if i am not playing. And i want to play, i want to help. But for unknown reasons its not going to happen, or my chances will be limited, so it's better for everyone if we say goodbay. If not, i am professional and i will keep doing everything i can, to help my team and my teammates, whenever i have opportunity to do so."

Spelling errors are his not mine!

Sentimental post incoming.

While I still hate the way Berbatov left us I can't help but feel a bit sorry for him. He is one of the most gifted players I have ever seen, and I still to this day love watching him make the hardest things look extremely simple on the pitch. A footballing genius that I really hope can find a club that will play him week in week out in the Premier League.

I actually still kind of hope we will sign him back if he's not wanted at OT anymore. This post has made me go look at some youtube videos and now I am really struggling to understand why on earth Sir Rednose prefers the likes of Hernandez instead of Berbatov. I honestly can't think of a more classy player (on the pitch) than Berbatov. He's kind of like an improved Eric Cantona, only without the anger management issues and arrogance.

Fuck I miss Berbatov!

Some Youtube fun.

He was a class act. It's a shame to have to see him issue a 'come and get me' plea like that though.

I never rated him too highly, 13/14 goals a season for us was not that good for a player with his ability. He s clearly a very very talented player but something is missing, aggression or drive something like that. Berbatovs skills with Bellamys determination would be fantastic.

Boy, you have it bad mate. I remember what a wonderful player he was for us. I remember admiring his fantastic technique and his lethal eye for goal, and most of all his superb strike partnership with Robbie Keane. 46 goals in two seasons, he was flying and we were all ecstatic. He was a real hero to thousands of young SPurs fans (and quite a few older ones too. I can vouch for that).

But I also remember how much he wanted to get away from us, even after his first season (just check his face at the press conference. He looked like a player whose family was being held hostage, and their kidnappers threatening to kill them all if he didn't sign for Spurs)

I also remember how much his parasitic agent shot his mouth off every day, telling us how unhappy his client was to still be playing for Tottenham and he could join a bigger club at any moment.

Well he found his 'bigger club' and Sir Alex has effectively told him he's not one of the elite at MUFC and probably never really was. I feel gutted for him (NOT).

Would I welcome him back here? No. Really, as good a player as he was, and probably still is...I think that ship has now sailed. We have to look to the future, and in any case, things rarely work to your advantage when you try to re-create past glories.

I'm kind of glad he's in this position. Refusing to come on for Spurs back in 08, now he's crying because he's not getting minutes. You can't help but laugh.

For 5m I'd take him any day of the week though. He'd be a good transition backup for a season.

Won't be surprised to see Milan snap him up after selling Zlatan to PSG. Good replacement for a bargain price, and should thrive in the slower Seria A, nobody will expect to see him closing down defenders.

I would take him back at 5m if the wages are reasonable, I would imagine he would be pretty fired up to prove Man U wrong.

Loved him as a player, he had flashes of brilliance that could match Gazza, Ginola or Hoddle when he was on it, but he was a striker and he was meant to score shed loads of goals, so agree with the previous post that said he didn't get enough given his ability. And he's clearly past it now, so if Utd don't want him, don't think we do either, plus he clearly doesn't want to be a back up striker, and as he wouldn't get in ahead of Adebayor, it's a no from me.

Heh, he's scored 1 more goal for Yanited than he did for us in half the time. Stiil, he got the couple of medals he was after and he had one of the best seats in the house watching Yanited win them at least.

Get him back. For the cup games (till we reach semis then bench the proud fool who thought he was bigger than a club)

He wasn't willing to work his nuts off for Yanited. He wasn't for us either. There's no chance he'll do what we need. Still don't think I've seen many players with a touch as good in the 20+ yrs I've been watching football. He was also brilliant when a chance presented itself. However, we need an Ade. Not as talented but a good finisher and goddamn did that guy work his nuts off (most of the time) for the team last season.

If Berbs would run about a facking bit then he'd be perfect. The team has improved by leaps and bounds since he was here last and it couldn't afford to carry him as it did back then. In fact, he'd be detrimental to the team now, imo.

Berbatov had all the tools to be a genuine superstar. A real standout-of-his-generation talent. Instead, he played at a good team, one which reached the CL final, in the Bundesliga until well into his mid-20's. Then signed for us as an audition for Yanited and lorded it over everyone here. Then finally got his big move and then absolutely fucking wasted it.

He won't be remembered in 10 yrs. Not sure he even gives a shit about it tbh. He's massively wealthy and can claim to have won a few shiny medals. But a great he ain't. Bit of a waste really.

I can't quite put my finger on it with the guy. I believe he is arrogant but I also believe he is brittle-prone to doubting himself, if you like. I think it's a crying shame the way it's ended up for him but he's not what I would call a team player. I still carry a torch for him-it's the otherworldly technique but his personality is as exasperating as it is intriguing, in my opinion.

I will always wonder what could have been if he'd stayed on and was playing in front of Modric & vdV.

Easily the sexiest striker I've had the pleasure to beat mys... I mean see in the flesh at Spurs, such a shame it went the way it did with him.
