Do you disagree with the poll? Is there a fourth option you prefer?

I disagreed with your comment that ''his talent and potential were undeniable''....thats why i gave you a disagree, nothing to do with the questions in the poll mate....i suppose we all look at games and players differently.

You have to support the manager you have at your club. In the summer AVB was the boss, and he play with a high line which highlight the weakness in Caulker's game. At the same time Cardiff comes in with an extremely good financial offer, while we have the opportunity to sign a better player for less in Vlad Chiriches.
It all made sense at the time, and it's wrong to look at it in hindsight as things have changed after AVB have left the club.

Why do you think he'd go to Liverpool? If Cardiff were to sell, they'd probably contact us and let us know of potential buyers and since Caulker came up through the ranks (and I think is a fan), would choose us over them.. But thats only if we went back in for him

Caulker did not support us as a kid, so he's not a fan. Nor do I think footballers make career decision based on what team they used to support, those kind of ideas tend to leave when you play on the same level as the team you support. Caulker played the best football of his career at Swansea under Rodgers. He wanted to bring Caulker with him to Liverpool and showed his interest at a time when Caulker was still rated very highly at Spurs.
So he's wanted at Liverpool, and they are stronger than us at the moment, still slightly in front of us financially, and going to play Champions League football next season.

Fair call, sir.

personally, i feel he is a decent center back... not too convince he is good enough for a top side. just feel he is rather average. Decent in the air, doesn't really read the game too well, and doesn't get caught now and then... but a decent player, a good backup if needed.

Wasn't he sold for non-football reasons, or is that just another Spurs myth?

He's been better at the attacking end than he has at the end he should be. He's a big unit but poor on the ground, and still pretty raw. World beater? No chance.

This week any player who does not play for us is a "world beater", we will be casting envious eyes at Postiga again by Friday.

I've never seen a defender so contradictory. There were times he'd make the ground up and simply not put his foot in to tackle or block and other times he'd sell himself to a dummy so easily. He's very good at attacking set-pieces. I believe his talents end there. I think where he is now suits him well, just about Premier League standard.

Steven Caulker isn't a top defender now, and I'll bet any amount of money that he never will be. the fact that he is young and homegrown shouldn't blind people to this fact. the last two central defenders we've bought have been Vertonghen and Chiriches. were we to go and buy Caulker, that would be a significant step back from the quality of those two. let it go, people.

Because they are a club on the up, playing great football with an excellent young coach.
We on the other hand are not....
Even I w ould join Liverpool over us at this moment in time
