So... After Cardiff is relegated should Levy & co bring him back? Or was it the right decision to offload him?

IMO, he looked a bit shaky in some of the games he played for us last season, but his talent and potential looked undeniable, which he is fully confirming this season for Cardiff.

He's been better at the attacking end than he has at the end he should be. He's a big unit but poor on the ground, and still pretty raw. World beater? No chance.

I still don't get why we sold him.

He's club trained, great backup/good first teamer and he learnt his trade training with Ledley King. That simply can't be understated.

He also has a great physical presence and seemingly wanted to play for Spurs - something lacking in a lot of the players we have.

We need better players than him just now. he may become the player we need, but we need that now and he wot want to come back to us to sit on the bench.

The whole affair bears similarities to when we let Kaboul go to Portsmouth, he improves his game and cuts out mistakes with regular starts, and we'll probably buy him back if/when Cardiff go down, there's a buy back clause with this one, as there's was with Kaboul.

I would not be surprised in the slightest if Levy has a buy back clause of £1-2m less that what we sold him for if they got relegated. I think it'd be a great masterstroke by Levy and we should 100% take them up on the offer if (or when) they do go down

IIRC we have a 30% sell on clause. Which club he decides to go to will remain his choice.... and I dont think we have much hope TBH.

No I think it was a good for him that he left, the club is a shambles at the moment from top to bottom.

He had a lot of things to work on, but I would have stuck with him. He was still only 21 and despite having played a lot of first team football in that time you would assume that with even more experience at PL level he would have learnt and got better at reading the game, and under the right coach would have improved further. He was no worse/better in his performances for us than any of our other centre backs over the last two seasons.

Reckon he is nailed on to go to Liverpool, and become great there.
Why do you think he'd go to Liverpool? If Cardiff were to sell, they'd probably contact us and let us know of potential buyers and since Caulker came up through the ranks (and I think is a fan), would choose us over them.. But thats only if we went back in for him

Vlad is better than him

Yep but no reason we couldn't have had both. Obviously Caulker wanted games which shows what a good mentality he has. His is so young for a PL CB. I thought at the time we made a mistake and I still.

People say he makes mistakes etc but he is 21. Only defender I have ever seen who looked fantastic at 21 was Rio and he was a different class. Caulks can definitely be one of the best in the country by the time he is 26. Stupid to let him go.

At this moment in time he isn't a better defender than kaboul.Dawson.vertonghen and chiriches and he wanted 1st team footy in a world cup year.

Plus the whole non football related stuff, Cardiff offered great money so what can you do
