I’m not surprised there’s no ban. When was the last time an Arsenal player picked up a ban for something like that after the match?

Only thing I can think of is that the ref saw it and thought nothing of it and therefore the fa can't do anything. The ref was right there at the incident too. Horrendous reffing if that's the case.

I've seen worse not get banned tbf, you can throw you hands like that but Maupay did overreact.
Nowadays you grab or hit a player in the throat or face you get sent off regardless of the level of force.

But tbh I don't really care about this. Whatever helps Arsenal lose focus of their real issues is fine by me.

Agree completely, but it's just what I've seen.

They've got a few players with a year or two left on their contracts
PAE - 1 year
Ozil - 1 year
Mustafi - 1 year
Saka - 1 year
Sokratis - 1year

Lacazette, Sideshow JR, Kolasinac- 2 years
quite a few of their best players coming to an end. Lack of continental qualification and they could lose quite a few.

laughable if not unsurprising. if it had been one of us, it would have been a 3 game ban, minimum. at least he's utter shite and probably does them more harm not being banned tbh.

Honestly I cannot understand how the FA can work out that Guendouzi’s actions don’t meet the criteria for a ban. Whilst he might have given Maupay a gentle dig in the ribs, he followed it up by grabbing him around the throat!
Regardless of whether it was noted in Martin Atkinsons match reports or not, it also just adds more weight to the argument that Martin Atkinson is unfit to ref in the PL. He’s either totally shit or completely corrupt.

The FA have always been an inconsistent bunch of clowns when it comes to this kind of thing. They’ve always got the same set of excuses for not doing anything about something blatant. “The ref didn’t put it in his report.” etc blah blah.

I‘m pretty sure when they review an incident, they just roll a couple of dice and consult a chart that tells them what to do.

What a fucking joke. Imagine if that was Alli who'd done it, he'd get a huge ban.

Unbelievable. Grabbing a player by the throat when play isnt even going on is about as black and white as you can get other than lamping someone.

If the ref saw it and didn't act then you have to ask serious questions about their integrity. There's absolutely no gray area with this.

More likely just yet more complete and utter incompetence from the golf club chums that call themselves "The Fa"

There’s been an unhealthy lack of scrutiny over the FA and the PGMOL.There have been so many horrifically bad decisions over the years , particularly to benefit some clubs.
I was really hopeful when VAR was introduced, but the protocols the FA/PGMOL attached, and the obvious successful approaches other sports use which were ignored only add more doubts over their integrity.
I mean, if you could overhaul the rules to prevent obvious unfairness, is this really the way you’d do it?

Agree completely. So often it seems like they're no held accountable at all for these bizarre decisions. They seem to pluck then out of a hat sometimes and everyone either laughs or just shrugs and goes back to what they were doing no matter how insane the decision was. They need to be held more accountable IMO. What the best way to do that is I've got no idea, but something has to improve surely.

I can’t believe he didn’t get a yellow for the elbow or a straight red for the throat grab.
For it to be reviewed and the authorities felt no further action should be taken the only logical explanation would be down to favouritism of some description.
Out of curiosity I just went on the premier league website to have a look at some stats and amazingly between Liverpool, Man U and chelski they’ve only had one player sent off all season!

Is this story real? Almost certainly not.

Is it likely? Not really

Is it even feasible? I don't think so

Will that stop me giving my Arsenal mates grief about it? Hell, no.

Jesus they truly are looking fucked.

So much money wasted on Ozil's wages, 2 top strikers for 1 position, Xhaka, Mustafi, (maybe) Pepe, and a slew of other mediocrity. When you're a team in their position you really need to get those signings right. If they lose PEA this summer they really are at risk of slipping into the bottom half for a few seasons.

Of all of their youngsters Saka looks the biggest talent. If they can't even get him to sign a new deal then they really are in trouble.

Their one big hope seems to be Saliba coming back (who to be fair does look very good)...but he's a 19 year old CB...
