People just realize Arsenal are a good team. Like what do you want the discussion to be? Just lies about how they aren't?
American I assume?

Seriously our fanbase is just eroding. Won't be long before we're back to having fans going to Tottenham one week, then Arsenal the next. People talk about tribalism like its a bad thing...admittedly it can go too far, but tribalism is what makes football the most popular sport on the planet.

There's an old saying, If you've got nothing good to say about someone, don't say anything.
The exact opposite applies to that lot.

It stifles debate and discussion? Cry me a fucking river.
People can post what they like, and so can I.

I've never seen so much of it in my life before, as in this thread, in recent months. Absolutely sickening.

Im guilty of it. Not twerking though - more like a whale tail.

There is no harm in saying they look good without any deterioration in hate for the ****s. I hate them as much as ever, and their fans are gross but knowing your enemy is important.

I am not American FFS . Even went to the game on Saturday. You can say what you want but I just don't know what the point is of going on an Internet discussion forum to just lie and repeat overly biased stuff.

Twerking for Arsenal as a Spurs fan is fucking weird mate, you're not the only one.
A few people saying this message but at the end of the day I believe all of these statements to be true

  1. I hate them
  2. They have one of the worst fanbases in the league (alongside Chelsea, West Ham and Liverpool)
  3. They've been spending ridiculous amounts of money to keep afloat a manager and squad that don't deserve it
  4. We will finish above them
  5. They look better this year than last year

Not really fussed about Neto to Arsenal. Good player with potential, but I haven't seen anything that makes me think this is the boy, or not against us at least. If they pony up 60m for him, good luck to them.
Neto had that quality pre-injury IMO, but having been out for pretty much a full year I haven't seen that quality return since he came back. It's a much bigger gamble to sign him now.

This. Saying they're better than last season does not mean you're "twerking" for them. Apparently you're a fan of that club if you point out what they're currently doing well? What garbage. I'll point out when they play well and when they don't. Likewise with us and any other club.

Some here need to get over themselves.

People can think what they like, but personally I've found it strange that some posters are holding them up as an exemplar of summer transfer business compared to us, saying they've brought in proven top class talent like we haven't added Richarlison, Bissouma and Perisic to our squad - amongst others? Yes we'd love another AM and CB to add to things, as that is taking us firmly up to title contenders imo, but personally I don't understand the negative comparisons.

Also, there have been many examples in recent years of Arsenal going on long unbeaten runs and everyone going nuts about how amazing they are, when looking deeper the context has always revealed a set of games against weak opposition. Which is what they also have to start this season off. So it's not that they haven't improved and won't be better, it's more that some posters are really jumping the gun on things. We have seen it before.

Fuck Arsenal
Fuck em, fuck em right in the neck, Yesterday, today and for eternity.

It’s.this.simple.

Getting all upset about a gif and telling others they need to get over themselves ?

I reserve the right to refuse to pay them any form of compliment, no matter how deserving, and to find any such act deeply weird and deserving of the tag ‘twerking’.

This year more than ever i cannot stomach them, they make me sick...all the fawning over social media and in pubs all over North London by the 'been quiet for the last few years but now suddenly top Gooners again brigade'. I have a few good pals who are scummers and literally only one of them hasn't turned in to an utter tosspot since preseason.

fuck em, double double fuck em.

People also getting suckered by the momentum of their social media presence in my opinion
Arsenal survive on hype. No other club have declined so obviously for so long and have gotten away with it like they have.

Everything is massaged and manipulated in such a way that you lose sight of how bad they are.

For example, how often do they have some humiliating results followed by an easy victory? For most clubs it wouldn't mean much but they when they take two steps backwards their one step forwards is treated like neil Armstrong stepping onto the moon.

Their fans obviously buy into it but the media almost always eat up that kind of narrative too.

It happens in all sorts of ways. Walcott was an inconsequential player but he was put into the England squad at 13 (?) and arsenal fans thought they had their own Bale.

They sign floundering players from Real and Barcelona at huge wages to give the impression they are still at the top table but it is illusionary.

People seem not to acknowledge the humiliations they suffered at the hands of bigger clubs last year. When it's Manchester United no one shuts up about it. But arsenal somehow get through it unscathed.

They are a club that runs on hype - for good reason. But we don't need to buy into it too.

Need to remember that whilst we have better players, we are actually behind them in terms of Conte's development of the team in comparison to Arteta's.

- Arteta has now had 3 summer and winter transfer windows.
- He has been able to sell 17 first-teamers and bring in 18.
- 11 players remain from Emery's reign. 4 of them came from the academy and one of them is Pepe who he wants to sell.
- So he has only really kept 6 signings from Emery/Wenger's era.

Whereas Conte only started moulding his squad in January, plenty of players from our squad were deemed not good enough, which makes it even more spectacular that we finished above them.

A long thread.

They cant spend much more money. Basically they are backing themselves to get champions league football. If they don't, then next summer they will have to sell some players.
