I'd rather save our cash, the goal now is to improve what we have in the starting 11 while supplementing certain positions with youth, our CH are all a much of a muchness in pros and cons - adding another to that group seems pointless.
I agree.

The point is Jose wants a world class CB. The chance to buy one doesn't come around often. We don't sign Skriniar this window I doubt we ever will.

Rudiger is a really good CB but not world class.

I'd be frustrated if Skriniar is not brought over the line considering how close we have been with it (supported by a host of ITKs and media reports). I fully expect the club/Levy and Co to be equally disappointed if it doesn't come off.

It would ge odd if you're not disappointed if I'm honest.

It would be a game changer.

But I'm equally aware these multi million pound deals are easy to pull off.

Agreed. Plus people keep raising this point about it being a view to a loan with Rudiger (unless this has now changed) which, if that's the case, seems even less likely. I'd hope the club just close it down.

People will do anything for money it seems these days. There is no way i would be going to a place that i have accused of racism.
Sorry how would him going from Chelsea to Spurs, probably on loan, be a financial decision?

Given the absolute shite that Chelsea currently have playing at the back, I would question the decision to bring in someone who isn’t good enough to start for them.

Would rather keep what we have and go again in January. Nothing personal, not bothered about the racism accusation etc I just don’t think he is worth blowing a non-hg spot on when we could go out and buy someone actually good.

Obviously my biggest preference would be just to put up the money for Skriniar...

Lampard doesn't like him, like Zidane didn't like Bale. It doesn't diminish their ability.

The irony in your post is Skriniar is being kept out of the Inter side by a 34 year old Kolorov.

A player being kept out of a line up is not necessarily indicative of their ability.

What time on Monday does everyone think Chelsea are planning on releasing a statement saying he's not for sale, never was and Tottenham are wasting their time? 3 hours before the deadline is my guess.

Slightly different in that Chelsea have Christensen and Zouma playing there, whereas Real have at different times had players such as Isco and Hazard keeping Bale out of the side. I’m sure if Zidane options included Gary Doherty and Clinton N’Jie he might have decided Bale was worth playing.

No irony in my post, Skriniar is being left out of a good defence, not a crap one :)

How do you know that he lied?
Because all investigations by both the club and the police authorities, found no shred of evidence whatsoever to support his baseless allegations.
I am absolutely against any form of abuse be it racial, homophobic, creed or religious. On the other hand, I resent, abhor and can't stand anyone who attempts to be themselves abusive and takes advantage of their social status, by falsely claiming that someone had been abusive towards them.

Doesn’t mean he lied. It’s just as likely that he misheard, in which case he did the right thing in reporting it as you can’t leave that to chance.

I actually think Rudiger is a good player. He’s probably Chelsea’s best defender and I can’t for the life of me work out why they’d let him go.

Having thought about the whole angle of him not wanting to come or our fans not wanting him due to the allegations of racism, I think they’ve been blown way out of proportion tbh. He’s a professional footballer and it was one isolated incident. If he performs well for us, of course the fans will take to him. Our fans literally had a chant for Adebayor which had racist undertones and that was soon forgotten when he scored a brace on his debut.

The reason I’m not particularly keen on this has nothing to do with the past or his ability. It’s the fact we’ve been chasing Milan Skriniar who is levels above all of our defenders and Rudiger. I also don’t think Rudiger is good enough to come in and become a starter for us.

The point you make, I agree and understand. However, if that was the case and after all investigations were carried out, I would have expected a gentlemanly reaction from him to state that he accepts the final findings of the investigations. I never expected him to react to the investigations the way he did, when he tried to imply some kind of cover-up.

Don't want to get into a deep debate, but would like to add that the thing about 'that' incident that annoyed me the most was indeed the fact that it was never even a consideration that he may have misheard things. With the boos ringing around a cavernous stadium and a competing athletes blood pressure up and heart pounding, the suggestion that he could have misheard cannot be easily discounted - especially after the investigation couldn't substantiate the claim. But him mishearing was never even raised as a possibility, not by him or the bandwagon jumping media - so it's either Spurs fans are racist and lying or Rudiger made it all up and is a liar. Which is plain daft and helps nobody.

Odd he doesn’t seem to be first choice as sure he was before Franky boy came in.

But then frank is a tad weird.

Would rather go for someone like Godfrey or Kabak than Rudiger to be honest.

The Chelsea fans I know say he is their best defender, and are annoyed / confused that he is being left out. My preference would be going for a left footed centre back

Always thought it was blatantly obvious that was the case, either fans chanting cheat or who let the yids out was misconstrued. It came at most volatile moment in that game too. Fans have made up their minds though.
As a footballer as others have said I’m a bit confused why they want rid of him, always thought he was by far their best CB. Not sure if he’s declined or what as not been paying close attention to his performances.

Id be amazed if either Chelsea give us a player or if he still believes what he heard was true he wants to come here.
