Uhhhh the desperation :)

'Atletico reject Man Utd's €130m bid for Joao Felix'

Manchester United have had a €130m bid for Joao Felix rejected by Atletico Madrid, according to Spanish outlet AS.
Atletico, the report states, have pointed to the 22-year-old forward's €350m release clause, and are unwilling to sanction a move.
Atletico signed the Portugal international from Benfica for £113m in 2019.

Man Utd to go back in for Antony

Sky Sports News has been told Manchester United will go back in for Ajax forward Antony.
It is thought an offer will be presented to the Dutch club this week.
United tried to sign him earlier in the window but there was a big gap between what United were prepared to pay and what Ajax wanted.
It was believed Ajax's valuation was €80m at the start of the window.
Signing a forward has been a priority for Erik ten Hag all summer.
Antony was a regular under Ten Hag at Ajax in the last two seasons.

I don't know how they can look at the gaping holes in their squad and think João Felix is the answer.

Sports Psychologist saw what was going on at the club and decided it wasn't worth it

Rangnick’s decision to appoint sports psychologist Sascha Lense was immediate when he took interim charge for the rest of last season after Solskjaer was sacked in November but United’s ordeal only intensified and Lense has since departed.

I didn't see this story posted: https://12ft.io/proxy?ref=&q=https:.../manchester-united-ronaldo-ten-hag-brentford/

A good roundup of problems behind the scenes at United.

That was lovely reading, thank you!

Shocked they're not in for Declan Rice.

From the article above :

One player highly unlikely to join this summer is Declan Rice. The England midfielder has been repeatedly scouted but West Ham are not prepared to do business this year for an asking price considered reasonable either to United or any other suitor at this stage. Ten Hag’s preferred focus in midfield has always been De Jong but Rice may yet return to the agenda next summer.

Yeah but an awful lot of those players were in demand when they bought them, and I don't remember too much resistance from Utd players or pundits when they happened. In fact most of those signings were universally applauded by them IIRC. They've become worse since getting to Old Trafford and that isn't on the board for buying them.
Imo. The club have unrealistic expectations, they had arguably the greatest manager in the history of the game for over 2 decades. They then expected David Moyes (who has proven to be a quality manager) to come in and take the ball running. Which was never probable, he was taking the hardest job in the world, following Sir Alex. They sacked Moyes incredibly quick, they missed on Van Gaal, didn’t back Jose etc.. They expect to hire somebody who brings them the success Sir Alex did and that will never happen.

I’m not from the U.K so please correct me if I’m wrong, but from what I’ve read on United, they had never been considered the top club in the country until Ferguson got there. Even when he was there they then had an excellent Youth Class that then brought them success for many years.

The club reminds me of the New York Knicks or Dallas Cowboys in a sense that they don’t realize their glory years aren’t really achievable to the full extent anymore, but they judge all current coaches and players based off that standard, which is unrealistic. They are suffering from the same problems those team I mentioned above are, in the sense that the pressure and expectations from the fan base is too much for most players and coaches. To find the players that can perform to that demand is almost not feasible.

Good point. It took the Holy Saint Alex himself four years to win anything at Man U, and that in a season when he was expecting to be sacked.

Hahaha Glazers selling the club? Dream on. Never going to happen.

That’s what I thought, but they have traded their shares before. How much is true about them selling and how much is bullshit just because they are doing badly is anyones guess.
