Agree with this.

Ten Hag can potentially change things but i get the impression their recruitment is very unlikely to help him unless that gets overhauled. Neville did a bit on SS about their signings since Fergie which i thought was quite interesting (sorry for the quality of the shot):

This is quite subjective but it shows that they've spent loads and have gotten very, very little for that money.
Yeah but an awful lot of those players were in demand when they bought them, and I don't remember too much resistance from Utd players or pundits when they happened. In fact most of those signings were universally applauded by them IIRC. They've become worse since getting to Old Trafford and that isn't on the board for buying them.

This is 100 percent accurate. The fans and pundits were clamouring to sign the majority of those players and they all went on to flop.

It's really quite simple, they need to hire the best DOF they can. They need someone to spearhead the football side of the club and give consistency and direction. The main issue is the fans and pundits are too arrogant and feel they need ex United players involved at all levels.

Until they have the right person in that role, everything else is redundant. They will continue to scattergun their recruitment, make signings to appease the fans and constantly think they have a right to be at the top because they are United.

Bloody hilarious whilst it lasts.

The ‘goals lost’ by selling Ronaldo stat is such a misleading narrative.

Yes, he will be gone but he would be replaced by somebody else.

Maybe, somebody who would help knit the team together allowing them to attack in numbers. Maybe allowing two or three teammates into attacking positions. Maybe even somebody who passes to others so they’re no longer overly dependent on one man with a hero complex…

The game isn’t about putting the 11 best players out on the pitch. It’s about having 11 teammates synchronised, supporting and fighting for each other.

United allegedly looking to sign Casemiro (€80m) and Aubameyang (€21m)

Add into that €60m for Lisandro Martinez and €16m for Tyrell Malacia.

Imagine what they could have got with €176m if they’d planned it out before the start of this window.

Diabolical.

Aye hindsight is 20/20. Of that list I can vividly remember Mata, di Maria, Depay, Schweinsteiger, Martial, Mkhitaryan, Pogba, Lukaku, Sanchez, VDB, Sancho and Varane all being lauded as gamechangers. They can't all be bad.

Sounds like PEA doesn’t want to leave Spain. But if Ronaldo goes (I think that’s a big if) then they need a striker. I just don’t see where their goals come from. That combined with their defensive problems and inability to strengthen midfield then they could be properly fucked if they don’t invest heavily before September.

United going for Aubameyang is just ridiculous considering the state of their dressing room. I mean I can somewhat understand Tuchel being interested because he's coached him before and has a good relationship, but he's such a risk to anyone who doesn't know him.

I just don’t understand why if Ron wants to leave that much he just doesn’t buy himself out, not like he can’t afford it.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see him over in the states sooner rather than later.

He probably can't process the idea that there's anybody that doesn't think the sun shines out of his arse. He's the ultimate narcissist in footballing terms. Imagine having that sort of ego and trying to come to terms with having to pay millions for somebody to get rid of you..

I found it amusing after Brentford he used both City and Newcastle as examples of how only new owners could have changed their respective clubs fortunes due to poor previous ownership.. Two clubs who's owners he's done nothing but slag off since they arrived. It's whatever fits his agenda this week, for this idiot.
Especially given how Ronaldo has completely disrespected the club this summer.

I’d have thought Neville would be all over getting rid of him.

It's the environment they've joined that is the problem, no structure anywhere.

Seems there might be some skeletons in the closet here regarding Ronaldo. He’s claiming it’ll all come to light in a couple of weeks.

as to the the collapse of the team, they’ve been able to walkover and bully teams for so long they grew complacent. There was enough fear factor in their name to mask it for a while but it’s become apparent that the emperor had no clothes on all the time.

There core players are either none existent or so lost they cannot affect the future, before we consider laughing at them just think what they could have done if they had hired Conte or Poch, every time they screw up, it's better for us, therefore long may it continue. When I see a poll about Man U, i always vote that the Glaziers are doing a good job ..?

As far as Neville is concerned that exact criticism was reserved purely for Pogba when he was saying he wanted to leave.

I’d say there’s a couple in that amber list who are batting too far up the order as well!
Bit bored so thought I’d have a quick look at fees paid and it’s staggering, the Amber list is as follows:
29
30
40
47
80
0
13
£239m

I only got down as far as Depay and gave up!
28
38
16
60
14
25
£180m

Absolutely insane, I forgot about some of the absolute dross they’ve signed!

He’s gotten quite irritating recently and I think he was a right bolshy bar steward with Redknapp in the post match interview.

Simon Jordan has had him pegged for quite some time with his quips about Neville and whatever agenda he’s pushing this week.

Too big for his boots and too outspoken IMHO.

That's why Messi is generally loved and Ronaldo is generally loathed. Most people can see through him.

I’m surprised Ten Hag didn’t try sign Edson Alvarez from his old club Ajax. They need a defensive midfielder he has looked great every time I seen him looks just like the player they need.
It’s funny how the media seem to link then with all the footballing celebrities who are on high wages and just looking for another pay day rather than up and coming hungry players..

They would be a football manager players dream.
