If you think Keown is bad, you should hear Jamie O Hara. ?

How the hell some of these ex players get a cushy gig to talk nonsense and get paid quite handsomly is beyond me.

I think JJetset’s earlier post covered it well. For me I know some a few people who work in large building firms and they obviously have the builders and such on the one side and the accountants, lawyers and businessmen on the other.

It’s a completely different world even if it’s the same industry, Simon Jordan is perfectly experienced to understand how a football club is run and controlled, Martin Keown knows how to defend a corner really well but is out of his depth talking to Simon on club, transfer matters.

I’m dreading the media next week if they batter us on Sunday and then buy Kane off us early in the week

Honestly I think the spotlight will be more on them than us. I think more and more people will speak out against City. I’ve been surprised in a good way at some of the stuff being said about city over the last week and a bit. I think only ex pros like Murphy, Neville etc will be creaming themselves over it.

He's another new member and I suspect it's yet another case of fat finger scrolling and entirely unintentional. It's an unfortunate problem and not uncommon at all. Really does need sorting.

Keep at the good work

Still think £130 million up front is a massive climb down from Levy. Very disappointing if it ends up being that little.

Trix said 140 plus add ons now but even if it was £130m let’s have some perspective.

It would be the 3rd highest fee ever, and about 25% more than has ever been paid for a 28 year old even before any add ons. This is for a man with a less favourable injury history than any of the other guys at the top of the list, during a pandemic.

If we get 140 plus add ons I think that’s a great deal - 200 was always posturing to set a standard for negotiation

Bucket loads of salt... but the same City ITK who claimed that the Kane deal was done, has said Levy asked the City chairman for help with stadium sponsorship.

Ties in with the ITK we got a few days ago.

'It is pretty funny seeing how badly this is being handled by certain sections of the media. Weird how in awe of Daniel Levy they are. Someone should tell them how in awe Levy is of Khaldoon. If only they knew about the time Levy went cap in hand to the UAE and asked Khaldoon to help him secure big sponsorships for his over-budget stadium.'

It might be right in detail but they confuse talent with money. If I come from a family or friends of a family that has £100bn I can buy any sports team and spend to make them successful getting the best DoF, Manager and players, I could do it, you could do it, anyone on this forum could do it, money talks.

Daniel Levy doesn’t have infinite money so has to work under restrictions, people are often in awe of him because he gets good deals and understands the business not because he happened to be part of a family that luckily happened to live on top of a ton of oil and can spend their way to success easily.

Maybe Levy did go to see Khaldoon to get more money, that’s because he has to look after the interests of the club.

Typical uneducated chav scally manc comment, Levy is a Chairman, Khaldoon is a chairman, these people network and have discussions with their respective industry counterparts, this happens in the world business all the the time. I know this is the case first hand from my career in the corporate world. People think at that level there is hardcore rivalry and hatred between corporates , commercially yes but all the CEO's Chairmans at that level are aware of their counterparts and have regular industry meet ups, do they play the game ' slap your dick on the table and see whose got the biggest one' at these meetups and show off yes but they are also very much networking and building contacts , swapping contacts if there is a mutual benefit, remeber its business at the end of the day football or not. Its certainly very plausible not just Levy but any chairman might ask the view of Khaldoon at one of these meet ups a question in general of obtaining information on the mechanics financing from that region of the world.

Thank goodness Simon Jordan was there to counter some of the rubbish Martin Keown was spouting.

MK ‘Oh Pep’s probably said relax take some time off’.

SJ ‘He doesn’t work for Guardiola!’

??
This is where some ex players show their true colours and know next to nothing about how business and professionalism works away from the pitch.

Keown was so transparent with his agenda, sounding like a gooner who wants Spurs to get as little out of this deal as possible.

Would he have said the same if Kane had been an Arsenal player, absolutely not. So transparent and unprofessional, thankfully Jordan balanced out the conversation. It was like watching two people connected to football, but one talking about things they are much better informed about than the other.

Off the pitch and when talking about the business of transfer dealings and player contracts so it's as clear as day as to which one would have the greater expertise.

If on the other it had been a discussion about on the field tactics at half time or who should have been marking who for the corner that led to the goal and about how one team turns it around after going a goal down, and you have a ex chairman and an ex player then it's a different ball game. Wind your neck in Keown and know your limits, it was exactly the same when Danny Murphy was talking to them earlier and Jordan was once again showing up ex pros and making them look like idiots when talking about a subject they are out of their depth on.

Will be a world record fee for a club selling a player that came through their academy, right? Levy will be tossing off over that 100% profit margin

I think the record before this transfer window is joint - Kepa and Lucas Hernandez, both at 80m Euros

Wasn’t Ryan Tegan ITK on here a few years back? If I recall he had links with Redknapp?
Yes but he isn't anymore don't think his contacts are anything like they were and as you say it was mainly Harry related. I speak to him at times on twitter and most of time he does say he isn't itk when posting stuff as people still believe he is.

Decent guy though
