Squad Ballance was always the objective this window. That in turn, has to be Ballanced with the home grown quota. With a limited budget this entails certain non key squad members moving on to make room, and the likes of Hart coming in to fill gaps.

Add into this Jose's wish to get younger players out on loan to gain experience and playing time, and also the financial constraints coming from Covid. This is without question as difficult as it gets in a transfer window.

The silver lining is Jose offering up a list of obtainable targets, and the fact he is listening to the clubs scouts and advisors as far as alternatives go. If everything pans out there is a still a lot of movement to take place. There will be no room for Jose to hide, the way things are planning out. Can't remember a time when DL was so determined to get a manager what he asks for, but then the players being requested are far more in tune with the chairman's preferred price range.

Expect more in in the next week or so as well as possible outs. No huge money superstar signings but players giving us options and balance to add to the superstars already here.

Doherty for not me. Ageing and seems like a player flourishing in a specific system and club. Not sure he would replicate performances in a back four.

Cheers for the perspective Trix. Agree that if José gets what he wants then he has nowhere to hide, feel it's the same with Levy in that if he doesn't deliver on obtainable players then José won't let him hide either.

Admit I'm more and more excited about seeing what we can do next season with a bit of luck on injury front.

All makes perfect sense. Not going to set any alarm bells off across the league or ruin any of our trousers but should have us being very competitive next season. As Trix says we already have top quality players like Kane and Son in the squad, we just need to give them a platform to excel which seems to be the plan.

I guess Ndombele's future is the only x-factor whereby we might do something a bit more fruity should he leave.

I have to say I'm actually far more excited by Mourinho getting a balanced squad than I am about the slim possibility of a superstar signing that we normally get strung along with every window. I think we can all agree there have been glaring holes in our squad for several seasons now and plugging these is the key to getting us back in PL and cup contention under Mourinho.

Sounds good looks like it’s shaping up well for squad balance ! Hopefully the moves that could happen soon are a right back and striker that would be a great start to the window before the season starts

Interesting TW ahead from what @Trix has just posted. Thanks for that. Would be great to have a balanced squad of good players for a change. Yes we need the exceptionals like HK, GLC and co. but we also need the regular quality footballers as well to make the team function properly.

Interesting that from Trix, as there are none that seem anywhere near close right now - I guess some serious movement is going on behind the scenes.

Gedson and bergwijn were quick with very little links,We weren’t even linked (properly) to hart 2 days ago, seems things have tightened up since José, just shows how fast it can move.
Another player in within a week would be more than I could if hoped for tbh

I am so happy with ALL of this.

Squad balance accounts for a huge amount in football. Our squad has been woefully out of whack in this regard for some time. We already have elite players in our first 11, they needed a solid base to work from and that comes from signing the likes of Hojbjerg etc.

So excited to see what we do at RB and CF specifically and anything after that is a bonus IMO.
