I think it would be a positive in Mourinho's favour that he wouldn't be a Yes man for Levy. A manager who wouldn't meekly accept the patsy role and who had the clout to shift the focus a bit more towards our board for why we have endured a trophy drought under them would be welcome, IMO.

The guy threw the toys out of the pram at United despite spending £350M in two and a half years.

I have a feeling Levy has had finger on the trigger. Just that Red Star match is too close to Watford. We shall see after tonight.

But also losing to liverfool seems destined, so this weekend may also be a possibility.

He had what appeared to be some sort of mental breakdown at Chelsea and got sacked. He made a mess of sorting out United despite spending 350 million yet some want him at Spurs. Madness. He is a busted flush. His day has been and gone.

God you enjoy picking out things to suit your narrative.

He threw his toys out the pram because Woodward insisted on signing certain players that Mourinho DIDN'T want in the first place. Sanchez and Fred to name two of them. If I recall correctly the only players Mourinho insisted on and got were Matic, Bailey and Lindelof. Pogba was a no brainer at the time so we can't even add him to the list.

It's not always the total value of transfers that tells a story. United have been desperate for a proper rebuild since Fergie retired and this has as much to do with the board as it does the managers they have hired.

If winning the Premier League, Europa League, and League cup is what you consider a mental breakdown and a mess, then sign me up.

Dismissing him is madness.

If we can’t entice the likes of Mourinho, or Allegri, who would be the person to - at least - see us through this season? i dont see Rogers wanting the post as he's got his own project; Eddie Howe, I’m not seeing it; Benitez, I can’t muster any enthusiasm for; the Ajax fella wont/isn’t ‘there yet’.
Thoughts?

Counting him in is madness. Do you really think Mourinho would sign up if he wasn't given unlimited spending?
Even to suggest that he would be the next manager is madness. One sequence of poor results and many are looking for a knee jerk reaction, I wonder about our flick fan base.

Some people have a different set of values. Mourinho says he wants a new start with new back room staff. If he were to bring John Terry with him would that be OK? It wouldn't be with me even if we won the mighty League Cup.

I would like Mourinho at spurs, I think he has a point to prove after utd where they definitely pulled the trigger to soon and made the mistake of backing Pogba instead of the manager, but I am not sure we will pay 10 million plus a year for his services, but we need someone of quality to get this squad firing again otherwise I can see huge bids in January for Kane and son that all of a sudden look very tempting, Madrid city utd etc

Ok then mate...whilst we're all at the open top bus parades, you and @Stoof can meet up for a beer and celebrate your values.
This club, the players, and most importantly the fans deserve some success, we've been starved of it.
Im not sure we have any right to be picky with regards to how we go about getting it.

Sounds like a plan. If we won a trophy under Mourinho (there are no guarantees), it would be no cause for celebration to me though. It would just leave me feeling sad that we'd had to stoop so ankle-grabbingly low.

I'm not convinced Mourinho is the answer but calling it "one sequence of poor results" is as hyperbolic as writing off everything that Pochettino has achieved here thus far.

We have taken 23 points in the last 21 Premier League matches. Hardly one sequence of poor results- 21 matches is more than half a season. Averaged across a whole season that equals between 41 and 42 points, or 15th position in 2018/19. We've lost 10 of those 21 matches and won only 6. That is an alarming run of form that has stretched now for roughly 9 months. During that time we've lost at home to West Ham and Newcastle, drawn with the bottom team of the league at home, been smashed by Brighton 3-0, been knocked out of the League cup by Colchester and been humiliated by Bayern Munich in one of our biggest home defeats of all time. That's much deeper than "one sequence of poor results".

Blimey where does this sense of entitlement come from?

What sense of entitlement? You said 'we deserve success' - not me.
Turning your nose up at winning trophies because of the managers personality/tactics.

Do you not think fans paying some of the highest ticket prices in football, after winning a measly 1 league cup this century, for a club of our size, we deserve some success?

I think Jose is fated to come to us at some point. Probably his last big gig before he takes the Portugal job.

But if people think the squad are disgruntled with Poche, wait until you see what Jose does... It's not going to suddenly be rainbows and unicorns.
