I work with a guy who is a very rare breed of decent realistic Liverpool fan but the vast majority are knobheads

8 mates are liverfool fans are all are pretty decent. Only one becomes a cock & he's my best mate and its only when we play Fifa. Fuck me he's terrible making me watch his crappy replays. I do the courtesy of not gloating when I win, please do the same when you score your only goal

From RAWK,

Stewy17

He (Siggy) shouldn't have believed that because Spurs are Spurs and we're Liverpool.

I'm 30 and in my lifetime Spurs have won 4 trophies (All cups, and two of them league cups) and never finished above 3rd.

Spurs will be strong this year I think, decent manager and new signings had time to bed in but as a football club we're on a whole other level that Spurs will NEVER occupy. I'm sorry but any player who chooses Spurs over Liverpool is a complete dickhead motivated solely by dosh and the bright lights.

Know your place, Spurs.

ANOTHER POSTER REPLIED

So we're now a club of tradition, history and condescension too.

Stewy17

I don't see any condescension I just see statements of fact.

Personally I don't give a fuck if a player chooses another team over us, I can even see their point when it's Arsenal or Chelsea or United (even City now with their $$$) but I think it's fair to say moving to Spurs over Liverpool is always going to be a mistake.

Liverpool are a prestigious club with very few peers in world football, Spurs aren't even the biggest club in their own city.

If you'd like to counter that argument with a cognisant retort I'm all ears.

Stewy17 perfectly encapsulates the reason everyone hates Pool. I'm actually surprised he's kind of acknowledged Chelsea, UTD and Arsenal, as possibly bigger than the mighty Liverpool. I hope they have a terrible season. MOTHER FUCKERS
To be fair, Liverpool are competing with one other club in their city, how many are we competing with in ours?

Pool in the current game are just like us competing in that top 6 - 8 sides and I would think that is a pretty realistic assessment of them and us. I don't have any feelings about them being well beyond and us or leaving us behind. And history in the modern game really doesn't count for much anymore.

Accounts for the year 2013

Liverpool's Wage bill: £132m

Our Wage bill: £96m

So how is it that we pay our players loads more than Liverpool and yet they have the higher wage bill?

The wage talks a joke. Liverpool have been paying massive wages for year on year to attract people to be the area.

there's no point arguing with Pool their blinded by the past and in their eyes were just another London club not fit enough to lace their boots.

Just mention Saurez they'll soon shut up.

I worked for years with a Scouser who was a top bloke - insightful, really knew his football including other leagues outside England as well as our lower leagues, could argue his point but be perfectly accepting of another, and was more than willing to change his views when countered with good points.

He was a Toffee and his hatred for the 'Red Scum' used to regularly make me laugh. He absolutely despised them, to the point of refusing to even put Liverpool players in his fantasy team no matter how well they were playing.

Everton fans are basically the reasonable people who live on Mersyside. I like them, generally they seem to accept their status. I also really like Martinez, he's a top bloke.

Liverpool fans, however, I fucking loathe. 99% of them are deluded fuckwits who know nothing about football. Ugh. I know a few, and they're all like that bloke from RAWK.

try telling one that when they won the majority of their European trophies the UEFA cup was arguably harder to win....... Then sit back and watch their head explode

I have one friend who is a Liverpool fan and he has become ridiculously depressed after they sold Suarez and it was hugely compounded by the fact they missed out on Sanchez. So I'd actually say he's a pretty realistic guy.

He's also been a huge Lallana fan for years and until last year no one knew why he liked him as much as he did and even after Liverpool signed him and we all tried to console him and say, "look at least you got your boy Lallana" his reply was always, "Who gives a fuck? We lost Suarez and missed out on Sanchez". Which I think sums up Liverpool's transfer season quite well.

I do the same with Arsenal.
