I think Brad did well this season. It's easy to say that there were some that Gomes would have saved, it is probably true but then Gomes always did the hard things well and can make saves in the top corner better than almost every keeper on the planet. Some of the simpler shots where he would have to get his footwork right and his body behind the ball would have likely gone through him, not to mention at least with Friedel you know where he is going to be on crosses and corners.

I definitely think he was an upgrade this season. He is far from perfect, but there are very few goalkeepers who get close to being perfect. Obviously he isn't a long term solution for us but if we have to have someone there short term while we find a suitable long-term solution then we could do a lot worse.

I would love a keeper that could make the saves that Gomes does, be commanding in the box, comes off the line to grab crosses or sweep up when the defence has got to high, never makes mistakes and could hold the position for the next 10 years. We all would, but where are we going to find a keeper like that?
