Unexpected one here... 9m Bentley bid rejected from Liverpool!

We want to keep him :)

I wonder whether Liverpool will back off or return with a bigger bid?

Do you think they might come in with an increased offer? I don't think it'll take too much more than £10m. Very surprised by this one actually, could be a good move for him.

Unless the offer is a silly one like 15m+ we shouldn't be strengthening our rivals. They are very vulnerable this year and we can finish above them.

How things have changed since they allowed Keano to move back "down" to us!

I wonder if we flog Bentley whether we'll reinvest the cash straight away? I suppose it would depend on when the sale happened.

I still don't want Bentley to go. I feel like he and Crouch are a match made in heaven.

I think Harry must be tempted to cut his losses on Bentley, although if he doesn't stay I'd prefer to loan him out in the attempt he'd get himself together, have a good season & then either keep him or sell him for a lot more than we'd get tomorrow.

I can't decide what I'd prefer but I think it would be good business to sign Kranjcar & Petrov together for less than we could sell Bentley for.

i really dont see the point in selling bentley, especially if it will strengthen a rival (villa, everton, lpool etc)

I still feel he can be that dynamic player he was at Blackburn, with Luka out I think he can come back in and do a job...we are better off keeping him for a year I don't think his value will drop by next summer...just my opinion

They aint got a pot to piss in and would need to sell at least a couple to raise £9m and 2-3 more to get the money Danny Boy wants.

Let's get Glen Johnson off them and finish this Pompey II project Harry's got going.
