Don't worry. I'm sure someone will be along soon to complain that we lost nine games and show our league position if we had won those games.
Yep, we obviously bottled those 9 games ;)

I knew Dele Alli reminded me of someone in his playing style, but finally it has occurred to me who.

Some people have rightly compared him to Frank Lampard, with his engine and his knack of popping up in the right place. But there's more, I think.

He also has something of Eric Cantona about him - quick feet, great vision, moments of outrageous skill, arrogant, talismanic.

He's like a cross between Lampard and Cantona.

Oh and I forgot to mention it at the time and seeing it again this morning reminded me.......Biggups to the 'awful' referee we had yesterday for his decision to play on after Dembele was literally wrestled to the ground which directly led to our first goal.

Dunno why, but we seem to have a woeful referee every week. Or is that just an unfair extension of the pundit/commentator whinges that we get as a matter of routine now?

Oh and seeing as i'm on a roll (and I doubt anyone will start a thread on it) plenty of positive comments from the morning shows today. Bunch of anti Spurs agenda ****s. How dare they?

The standard of refereeing in the PL is the worst for a long, long time, and when Clattenburg leaves at the end of the season it'll get even worse - think about that.

I met Clattenburg two weeks ago, he is scathingly critical of Mike Riley and the PGMOL. Unfortunately his current contract doesn't allow him to say anything about it on record. I think a lot or shit will go down over the summer and through next season.

Edit: Having said that, yes Taylor did very well with that advantage and had a generally decent game.

U ever considered that maybe they're just being scrutinised more?
We're in an age of multi angle, ultra slow mo for every single decision, it might be that referee's mistakes used to go without notice much more frequently than they do now - think about that.

I don't disagree that it's a factor, but I think it's telling that the same five referees get all the big matches and all go away to referee in European games as well. Burnout among the best referees in the country is a big problem, Michael Oliver had a few big games in short succession recently and in the last one (I forget which exactly) he was all over the place, I genuinely think mental fatigue played a huge part in that. They're only human, and as I say I think once Clattenburg's contract is up we'll get a lot of info that won't reflect well on Riley and PGMOL.

I wouldn't trust Clattenburg unconditionally but I think it will lay the foundations for a fiery debate that's been in the pipelines for a long time.

I don't doubt that Riley and PGMOL arent deserving of criticism, too many ex-refs give them a kicking for it to be coincidence.

It's like when lawro predicts us to win. They're only doing it to fuck us up by getting us overconfident.

Was it just me or were Watford particularly physical on Sat ? It seemed that whenever one of their forward 3 got the ball and a defender approached them, they (the Spurs defender) got a face full of open palm, or an elbow. Success was particularly guilty of overly aggressive antics... just an observation. The Dembele incident was bordering on grievous bodily harm (and as mentioned, fair play for allowing play to continue).

You gotta expect a bit of extras from teams we outplay. Good to see we can handle that stuff. That said I thought Watford played well at times too.

Their front 3 were beasts! But we're a big, physical side these days as well and know how to handle it.
