Tottenham have axed Marcel Lavinier after he rejected a new contract. The 21-year-old has been omitted from Spurs Under-21s’ opening two Premier League 2 matches of the campaign against Everton and Leicester City. It is believed Tottenham have left Lavinier, who is a right-back, out of the team as a direct result of his contract issues with the club.

You can’t really blame him, he’s got 3 RWB’s ahead of him right now, I wouldn’t sign a new contract either

tend to agree. Maybe he’s had assurances that haven’t been met. Suddenly he thinks it’s time to move.

Hate it when the club treats young players like this.
What are they doing wrong?
They've offered him a contract and he won't sign it, which I take to mean that he wants out.
Surely we can't blame them for not selecting a player who's made it clear that he wants to leave?
I don't understand how they're treating him badly?

Why? They club took a chance on him when he was released by Chelsea and have given him the platform to develop and push on. He really hasn't looked that "sensational" when he plays so not sure the club are doing anything wrong here.

We can’t really say much until we know the story.

Are you suggesting the headline is sensationalist?

No but going by what we do know, that just seemed like quite a harsh statement, to put the blame in the club.
That's why I asked the question because maybe there's something that I haven't heard of.

Seen him a few time “sensation “ is not a word that comes to mind hasn’t really kick on since coming from that mob. Possibly been told he is not good enough to dine at the top table.
