Scotland have got a comeback in them, though. Wasn’t very long ago they were 30 points down at HT to England at Twickenham.

So glad this game wasn’t cancelled. Was always going to be great for the neutral and it hasn’t disappointed

Who is the Tier 1 team?
Great stuff from Japan to be honest. I almost feel bad for my Scottish family.

To be fair, I think Japan were the higher ranked team going into this game so considering that, and the fact they’re playing at home, you’d have to say Scotland were the underdogs.

Would be amusing if Scotland score 2 more trys, but then miss a penalty right at the end

Noted. Still funny though.
Makes the think back to the game in the Principality against Japan when they almost beat us

Well done Japan! Shame I'm not in work for the next week to take advantage of this!

Yeah, fucking hell. Wasn’t it an injury time drop goal that won it for us. Japan are about 10 times better now which is great to see.

Let’s see if SA can get revenge for Brighton in 2015. I expect they will but you wouldn’t be thinking that qtr final is in the bag if your a saffer watching that.

Saffas just need to keep the ball off the pitch as much as possible to begin with. Territory and dismantle the poor Japanese lineout.

Easier said than done to be fair with a white and red blitz coming at you

Brilliant match. Japan gutsy and the Scots had a go after the half. Some great passing especially the first try

If we manage to get past France I’d have to take a minute to think who I’d rather play in the semis. That crowd today as well. Up there with the Irish and Saffers.

I guess I’d still rather play Japan if we do get there but they’ll give anyone a game. You’d expect SA to pull away last 10 mins though. SA by 10 points I’d say but who knows.

Phew what a great game! Fair play to Japan. As the presenter on ITV said, they're not just a plucky underdog grinding out results by frustrating the opposition, they're beating teams well by playing the game in a really entertaining way. A huge result for the country and also a huge result for the game of rugby IMO. More good teams around the world can only be a good thing. I think beating the Springboks is a tall order but never say never. Let's not forget what an arguably worse Japan side did at the last WC

True. It was also a much worse Saffa team though.
