If we end up out of the European places what's the chances of conte coming back? We all know he is the master of 1 game a week

This post suggests you think that we're going to pick up a similar number of points as Newcastle in our other matches and I'm sitting here looking at our remaining fixtures and seeing barely any points at all, let alone keeping pace with or gaining on those above us.

Code:
 Newcastle United - Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur - Manchester United
        Liverpool - Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur - Crystal Palace
      Aston Villa - Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur - Brentford
     Leeds United - Tottenham Hotspur

Newcastle away... Forget about it - the atmosphere will be incredible (for them) and we're shit away.
United at home... Maybe. They'll be without both of their first choice centre backs but if we're going to cower in our own half for 90% of the match does it matter?
Liverpool away... Nope. We don't beat Liverpool at Anfield and we're shit away.
Palace at home... Hodgson has them out of the rut they were in, could go either way.
Villa away... Emery has them flying and we're shit away.
Brentford at home... Not seeing it but they're on a pretty awful run themselves.
Leeds away... We're shit away.

So when you say one match is going to decide it, it's fair to say I'm not seeing it. I think we'll struggle to hit 60 points.
Let’s wait and see.

The Newcastle game will be the one that decides our hopes for Top 4.
We will get absolutely torn to shreds up there. If people think we still in a race for top 4 this game will truly affirm we are not. Liverpool are currently 9 points behind and they will finish above us.

In the race for top 4, we're currently in the pits debating whether we should try a new set of tyres or carry on with the same old, bald, blistered and totally fucked ones we've been on since the start.

F*ck's sake, man. We're shit. We don't deserve 4th and we weren't going to get it, Conte or otherwise. If he'd stayed, we'd still be out of it by now and folks would be saying, 'kept with Conte when it was obvious the job wasn't getting done - horrendous leadership by Levy once again.'

We're in a bad place, and as the man at the top, he's got to take a big chunk of the blame. But do we have to put it on Levy every time a shoestring breaks?
No, we do not have to blame Levy for every shoestring broken, but blaming endless managers and booing players while Levy gets off relatively free of blame is ridiculous. He obviously has business nous and has built a fine stadium, but when it comes to the football side he is not up to it and needs to be called out on same.

I am finding it incomprehensible that we are even in the discussion for top 4 this season. I really don't get how it has happened, we have been so awful all season. I know that Liverpool and Chelsea have underperformed but we just always look so poor, like a. team which should be fighting relegation especially when you watch the highlights from all the other matches. I suppose it basically boils down to the extra points Harry has won for us.

A thread "race for 8th" might be more realistic.

Tbh I can’t see a win coming for the next few weeks.

I know its very difficult to imagine.

But this is football, and things can change.

I think we're complete outsiders but if we manage to beat Newcastle, some how, fuck knows what it would do for our confidence in the remaining games.

Funny old game and all that.

Yesterday was supposed to be one of the bankers. The Newcastle, Man Utd, Liverpool and now Villa games were the six pointers but yesterday should have been a guaranteed 3 points if we were serious about getting top four.

Even if we win all seven remaining games we still couldn't be sure - and this team is absolutely nowhere near capable of a seven match winning run - think the prime Pochettino team only did that once.

The season died the moment Bentancur went down injured

Munny. Bald.
Kompany. Bald
Bloke that’s always on the touch line hanging out with players. Bald
Stellini. Working on it.

Wtf does levy have against hair. It can’t just be follicle jealousy.

Maybe unpopular but part of me thinks not getting UCL may be a blessing in disguise.

Where the squad is we don't have the depth to compete in the league and UCL. Our season fell off a cliff as soon as UCL started and we ran our key players into the ground and several then got injured.

If we had europa next year it means the prospects like Skipp/Sarr/gil/Mundle/devine as well as the squad players will all get decent minutes, and more importantly the key players get a break. Not only that but its a trophy we might actually, y'know, win.

There's no way Arsenal put together a title charge if they had ucl and couldn't rotate so heavily in the group stages this season. That's not to say we will have a run at the league next year, just more we are miles off the level to get deep in the ucl so I'd rather be in a comp where we can; develop youngsters, not derail the league, *and* we might actually win the thing.

Not too bothered with that.... we don't buy the players to compete...we all want to be in it but we not setup to win trophies of that or the EL as an example.

Happy to get 8th.... have a fire sale and clear the decks. Bring in a manager who can build something.
Optimistic that Levy will allow the new manager to clear the decks he will want to spend as little as possible, thats why it's rumoured we're trying to tie up new contract for Dier.
Even if Levy does authorise a clear out he be looking ridiculous money for our rejects.

Funny old game and all that.
I hope so, but nothing I’ve witnessed since the Southampton game leads me to believe we can turn it around. Looks bleak in my eyes. We have dropped points against the teams that looked easier in paper compared to the ones coming up.
Let’s hope the final 20mins with 4 at the back is some sort of eureka moment for the games coming up.
Funny old game 😄

Sigh.

Well, the good news is that there are only 42 days until we can put this season behind us.

The optomist in me says I was at the 0-1 home defeat to Bighton almost exactly this time last year and thought that was it all over but we still managed to turn it around. Then I remember Stellini would play 3 at the back even if it meant he had to play Kane at LCB and its utterly hopeless.
