A lot being said in here about picking "players that don't want to be here". I'm not claiming to be ITK, but to my knowledge there is only one player in the squad who actively sought to leave in the summer - Eriksen. There are others (Rose, Aurier plus Trippier) who were pushed towards the exit by the club, presumably at the behest of the manager. You can hardly blame them for lacking motivation after that but you can question why they are being picked if they are unwanted.

If Poch was working with a shit squad then I'd be all for giving him time to turn things around.

But it's not a shit squad, far from it, it's a squad that is poorly coached and criminally mismanaged by Poch.
Mourinho would win the FA Cup this season with this squad and the football would be no less entertaining.

Rose has tried to leave in the recent past, so presumably he’s not over the moon to be here. Toby doesn’t want to sign a new contact and therefore doesn’t want to be here for much longer. I thought I saw some quotes from Aurier saying he was hoping to leave this summer too.

Aside from the petulant Ndombele bit...

“I was talking before the game, with 29 players, it’s so important to rotate and keep all motivated to play.."

He’s talking bollocks. If those 29 players include the likes of Parrott, Skipp & Tantanga, how much rotation has he done in playing them.

We’ve no midweek fixture so now would be the perfect time to sack him and get somebody else in. Give them a few days to work with the squad. After that we’ve a game virtually every 3 days, which isn’t ideal for the new man.

Fair enough, but with Rose and Aurier it feels more like they were told to leave and hence tried to.

Toby's case seems a bit different again - he's not signed a new contract but was still professional and put in good performances last season. What changed over the summer? I'm also not totally convinced that he wouldn't sign a new contract if offered one under a new manager.

Why do people keep saying this...we're still in October ffs long way to go whether Poch says or goes, can't believe people are writing us off already.

I think it's the fact that our league performances over the last 10 months have been on a significant downward trend. You're right - eight points isn't an insurmountable gap with 28 games remaining but it just feels like it is based on what we've witnessed since January.

At this point you'd have to be a blind optimist to think that there'll be a change in the status quo under Poch.

If it was going to happen any time soon it was the international break.
Sadly I don't think it will be anytime soon.

how long do we wait then? give a new manager a January transfer window? wait till we’re in the bottom 3? what are we actually waiting for? because we’ve been garbage for almost a year, a lucky CL run has just papered over the cracks.

the line up was a joke. the subs were a joke. typically, the post-match interview was a joke.

quite right. given the past 10 months, there’s nothing to suggest we can turn it round in 28 games. its not just a blip.

we need to change now, give a new manager 2 months to suss out the squad, and then a january transfer window.

Based on what’s happened since January, 8 points is nigh on impossible for us to make up. In that period we’be taken less points than pretty much every side above us right now. Think we’re something like 8 points below Palace during that period of 29/30 games. Nothing points to us being able to make up such a difference as it stands bar blind optimism or going back to 2018 and hoping we can regain some of that form.

Our away run in the league continues though, fast closing in on George Graham’s premier league record of 14 away games without a win! #recordbreakers
