Yep, but they weren't going to be used anyway, so pointless holding on an paying for an asset you don't intend on using.
I’m not disputing it being the right thing to let them go but we need to do more than bring in 2 players who we have no idea how they may settle into the league to replace 4 or 5 others

We've held on to unwanted players whilst waiting for unrealistic fees for far too long, meaning we end up keeping them and paying stupid wages for players with literally no future here. Im glad we seem to be shifting players at a loss (or under market value). Finally acting like a big club in that regard.

Really hope we've got a rabbit out hat signing coming. Mainly because on Talksport breakfast, that agent Barry Silkman was on and said there were rumblings yesterday of one signing that was possible and would be massive if things fell and it came off. When pushed for buying clubs area he said London and it wasn't the gooners. Said enough innuendo to suppose it could be us. Could still be 3 in hopefully.

I would imagine he was referring to Kalvin Philips to WH.

Which, btw, if that's a goer, we should be all over it.

The way I see it we are getting out 4 who aren't playing and replacing them with 2 who may. Complete upgrade for Conte.

And my view is that even more so, we've cleared out some unhappy players who were clearly not contributing much anyway. No disrespect and I hope they all go off and do well (meaning more cash for us in the longer term I hope) but having supposedly key players show such poor attitudes for so long isn't good enough. I'm glad we've shown a ruthless streak and have decided to clean house in this case.

Gil is an exception here obviously. Got lots of potential but it's a big transition and perhaps we felt it's a bit soon - Rest of the season in Spain and a full pre-season in the summer and we'll be better placed to see where he can contribute.

What a great start with the outgoings but you have to think that there needs to be at least one more incoming with Dele leaving. Too many fixtures and the youth will probably be on a steeper learning curve. Fingers crossed that the additional incoming (assuming its so) will be able to stand on his own or get up to speed quickly in Conte's system. The fun of being a Spurs fan is returning

Tottenham Hotspur for the temporary transfer until 30 June 2023 of the right to sports services of the football player Dejan Kulusevski for a consideration of € 10 million, of which € 3 million for the football season 2021/2022 and € 7 million for the 2022/2023 football season.

Furthermore, the agreement provides:
• the obligation on the part of Tottenham to acquire the sporting performances of the player al
achievement of certain sporting goals during the 2022/2023 season;
• the right by Tottenham to acquire the player's sports performance on a permanent basis, if these objectives are not achieved.

The consideration agreed for the definitive sale, in both cases, is € 35 million, payable in five years.

But its not like its like-for-like transfers though mate - Kulusevski cant play CM for example. So technically we aren't even replacing them, we're adding a different position whilst also making ourselves short in another area. Rodrigo has replaced Lo Celso/Tanguy, however Tanguy/LoCelso, Gil and Dele need replacing still.

I wish i could give this post multiple winner ratings.

Sometimes we just need to accept we messed up, take the loss and move forward.
