I’m not sure which virtue is being signalled with this idea
Can someone signpost it, or point me in the right direction?

I think they’re ok with it… ok, so I’m being facetious. But as has already been covered, the England flag has been changed previously, if it is even included. Nike don’t do many kits with flags at all and there are other nations with altered flags on their kits (Scotland as an example). It seems like national badges are more sacrosanct and kit manufacturers/national FAs are a little bit more playful with flags and this has been jumped on as some sort of weird ‘culture war’ when there are far more important issues with football…

Where was it on last years? (2022) or the one before (2020). I can see the one on 2018. What about before that? Nothing on 2016, or 2014, or 2012. Then there were multicoloured ones on 2010
I haven't bought an England shirt for donkeys but there's usually one on the collar or the bottom hem somewhere. There was one (weirdly shaped) on the shoulder of one not that long ago.

But the main point should probably be that if you're putting a cross on there to symbolise the flag, it really should at least be in the right colour.

Really? can't see it anywhere on:
  • WC 2022 home - LINK
  • WC 2022 away - LINK
  • Euro 2020 home - LINK
  • Euro 2020 away - LINK
  • Womens 2023 home - LINK
  • Womens 2023 away - LINK
I didn't know that but in fairness, I don't think I've bought an England shirt since Umbro and I'm pretty sure they always had one.

But I still say that if you're having a flag on there, at least leave it as it should be and not mess with it.

Can't wait to see all the gatekeepers pacing around Wembley, checking the colour of the makeup used for facepaints, to ensure that all flags are the regulation shade of red and suitably white.

Thanks for the considered response.

I kept it simple, I think it would be disrespectful to change another country’s flag especially for a national team Shirt.

I’ve had a day of dealing with marketing people and i think the vast majority are massively lazy over paid idiots. So this just confirms my feelings!

I never knew this. And I also didn't know that in 2018 the Mayor of Genoa reminded that England should pay for the last 247 years of using the flag :ROFLMAO:

Does anyone want to take umbridge at the three "lions"?

Laying down they're Leopards. Rampant or rearing up, they are Lions.

Where's the outrage? Where's the national pride?

I love how Patriotism in 2024 gives zero fucks about the news of over 2 million British children not knowing where their next meal is coming from.

And instead deploys all available fucks over the colour of a cross on a football shirt.

Just another normal day on normal Island.

Shame that Harry won't play against Brazil. He probably won't get another chance to play against them.
For the last 20-odd years, Brazil's team's been living on the achievements of its predecessors. I haven't seen anyone recently to mention in the same breath as Zico, Socrates and Ronaldo, let alone Pele or Garrincha (a name I only know by his great reputation).

To be fair, many of us are capable of thinking about many things at the same time, even having varying opinions on many of them too.

I don't think this topic registers highly on anyone's fuckometer but it can still be discussed as a subject, without the presumption that it means that people don't care about other issues.

I take your point.

People are entitled to care about what they want.

I'm just tired of how much oxygen is taken up by relatively minor or trivial issues, at the expense of critical ones.

Particularly by the media and major political parties.
