Upon reflection this morning I’ve come to realise that it’s all a bag of shite .... and how fickle I am - at the end of the first half I actually caught myself thinking ‘uumm, maybe Mourinho for another season with the right players may be ok’. What a fool... it’s only gonna end one way....

I believe Jose has tried his best but we are being fatally undermined by his divisive personality and negative tactics. I cannot see things improving under him now it feels like we are just waiting for his inevitable sacking. However this doesn’t get over the problem with the players. Unfortunately we do not have the financial clout to get the really top players and that was very evident in games like yesterday. Their top players stepped up when needed yesterday and delivered quality. Kane, Son, Bale and the rest failed to do this, as has happened in too many of the big games this season. It would be lovely if they proved me wrong in the final against City but it is hard to have much hope. These are very depressing times. I have followed Spurs since the 1960’s and feel at my age I am never likely to see us win the league. It is hard not to feel bitterness towards some of the inept players at this club who so often look like they are not trying.

Yep, with or without Jose I feel it may be a while before we are in the top 4 again. Another long term project awaits.

That should’ve been a straight red.
Well according to the commentators on Sky it was just one of those things when a taller player comes up against a shorter player.

The fact that Pogba led with his elbow at face height seemed to pass them by...

But if we concede 70% possession post-scoring, are we surprised when we make mistakes? Coming under that much pressure puts too much strain on the defenders, both individually and as a team. And they can’t cope, they’re not good enough - we all know that.

Our defensive unit is not some Italian team from the 90’s so why does he have us play that way?

We’ve done it every fucking week and had success twice (City & Arsenal) which prove a broken clock is right twice a day.

Oh I agree but I don’t think it was a disastrous performance. We largely controlled the first half but bringing Sissoko on for Lo Celso just ceded any control of the midfield we had.

In comparison to our performances against other top 6 teams in the second half of the season that was one of the better ones. But I guess that shows we’re working from a pretty low bar.

Not it wasn’t disastrous. Our goal just highlighted what we’re capable of and I found that so frustrating. More of that type of attacking play and we could’ve won easily yesterday.

Even Jonathan Pearce said similar on motd. If that’d caught his windpipe he’d be down & out.

The first half was ok. Neither team was really able to assert any real authority on the game or create many meaningful chances. The substitutions were the biggest factors and as always we deteriorated after ours. As a manager, Jose knows that Ndombele and Lo Celso tend to tire, so why not have Gio on the bench so that we have a better option than Sissoko to bring on. Lamela, Bale, Dele or Bergwijn could all have started in his place depending on how Jose wanted to play. A fresh Lo Celso coming on at 60 minutes would have been so much better than Sissoko but Jose just doesn't seem to plan like that. Next season, with Skipp and potentially Sabitzer we could have 5 first team quality centre mids so it is less important, but this season it is poor management to start all 3 when you don't have sufficient quality on the bench.

The Utd players were really up for it, you could tell from their intensity and even in their celebrations. We lacked any desire whatsoever

Not at first, both Neville and Tyler made the ooooohh sound as if to indicate that it was a bit naughty. They then quickly realised that their reactions are probably being piped in to Stockley Park and changed their tune to a move along, nothing to see here one.

The red shirt creates the illusion that Pogba elbows Aurier , when in fact it is Aurier who is trying to throat Pogba right in the elbow!

Even more importantly look what happened to Liverpool when they bought one CB.
Yep, how I wish our transfer policy matched that of Liverpool. They identified a weakness at CB then waited 2 transfer windows to sign the best possible player they thought could fill the position. We are in a similar position now with our CB positions. But you can bet your house that our transfer policy this summer will be determined by which players are currently available on a free transfer, loan, or are entering the final year of their contract. For us, it’s never about signing the best player for a position, it’s always about doing things on the cheap!! And I’m fucking sick of it. As Poch put it, we need to start acting like a big club!!
