What is winks' game when up against premier League opponents?
Wheres he meant to be played
My opinion, deep lying passer with a bit of bite when needed. I'd say similar to Xabi Alonso.

But that's potential still, right now his game is definitely better suited to international football.

Well thats where he's played for us in the league and it's been a disaster because he cant defend and isn't strong enough to retain position like dembele
So don't see how he can play deep unless he has a Wanyama Prime next to him, then you have a midfield with little movement that's too defensive.

I really don't see a role for him unless it's a midfield 3 with a true proper DM, NDombele and winks

Nor was Sterling until a couple of seasons ago. Still, £100M is pretty steep.

Doesn’t bare thinking about how good Man City would of been had he stayed and developed himinto another Sterling. Wouldn’t be surprised if they bought him back eventually

Alonso always had a DM next to him though. Just like Winks should have.

And if we were to try going down that route I'd support it 100%. We absolutely need a quality hard bastard DM in the squad, that and full backs (plural) would be my priority over all else.

Yep, will never be a great though. I think Maddison has a higher ceiling personally.
Agree, really liked him in the championship. You could see he saw the next pass in his head before he received the ball from the guy passing to him. Sign of a great mind. mount and Grealish may be more skilful but Madison has the intelligence.

Well they say there’s no easy games at International level anymore, but the last two teams we’ve faced have been absolute toilet.

Looks like Abraham coming on. Can’t see Harry being happy to come off.

Should play Abraham with mount though like at club level now rather than subbing mount off for Maddison. Give both players a chance together.
