Has anyone ever doubted that we were trying to do something? Anything? Presumably a keeper is in the works. We sure tried to sell McGee for him to be our future first choice. Which means it's likely Pau or some other young keeper.

I never doubted the "pipeline," but the question is whether pipeline infers something immediate or way down the line.

Or maybe the pipeline is just how we're sneaking Sissoko into China.

I think that Barkley is possibly our main target and there is no moving on him while Everton are asking for £50mio.
Inevitably it will drag until the end of he window when they will have to soften their stance so we just have to be patient. I think other moves will transpire when and if there is movement on Walker, Sissoko and Wimmer.
Obviously it would be better to get new players in as early as possible but it just dosen't work like that unless you want to pay over the top to do so.

Barkley is imo in the pipeline, it has a long way to go down the pipe and there's a Levy shaped fatberg in the middle which only money will ease.

Everton apparently won't pay Barkley £130k a week, will we?

Mind you Everton will be paying Rooney probably lots more than that....

I do wonder if Barkley will come for less than Kane and Lloris earn?

Anyone that thinks we aren't signing a single player to help the squad is incredibly dense. We're going to sign players (plural). We have to wait for the right deal, it's how we do business; unfortunately, we can't pay significantly over value for players like our direct rivals. It's always been a waiting game for us, I'm not sure why anyone had these huge expectations it would be any different this summer. The club operates with a fine balancing act, selling players we don't need/want, bringing in those that we do but on our terms. And, despite what we may want, they don't operate on our desired schedules.

I'd expect us to sort right back out but aside from that I wouldn't be so sure just yet. We'll certainly try to improve our squad, but whether we actually will is another matter. I have a feeling we have quite a small list of targets (Barkley being the main target) and we won't just turn to anyone and piss away another £30m on Sissoko mk2 if we can't get them.

Think I've solved it.

Levy has commissioned all the ITK's to construct a tunnel between WHL and Goodison Park (Hence the radio silence from all our ITK's).
Said tunnel was completed Tuesday just gone and Ross Barkley is currently crawling lthrough240miles of pipe to fulfill his dream of playing for spurs.
