Fati still managed to waddle onto the pitch and score against us just a few weeks back. I thought he looked good tbh.

If Fati can pass a medical and get insured, then on top of the number of games he was available for last season, I’d say the club will know what they are doing.

Of course, that wouldn’t be as reliable as the opinions of all the doctors on here but that’s life I guess.

True but look at our defence that day and Ange hadn't fully worked on the defensive aspect then.
Bit of a MEH signing if its done.
Looks to me like a Levy last minute big name signing that never happens e.g Dybala, Bastoni etc

He was only out for 6 days last season (2 games missed) from a bruised knee. 2 seasons prior to that weren’t great but most important season was last year and he seems to have come through that relatively unscathed.
He's been better and they've managed him well. I'm sure we would do the same with maybe mostly 70 mins most from him. Personally happy to get Fati but would also keep Lo Celso especially with Devine out on loan now. I think Fati could be a great impact sub but would prefer a loan to buy option. He can play up top or on the left so covers us pretty well but we still would seem light on the right.

You can rate my post as off topic all day long but as an Irishman who lived in England for 58 years and now back in my homeland I will not let incorrect assumptions about "the IRA" being portrayed on this forum.
There is a Good Friday agreement in place and has been for 25 years. Ignorance is not healthy.
It was chatter about Troy Parrott and therefore valid in that sense.

I can't remember where I watched the video. But there were some medical experts saying the fact his dribbling and ability to beat players has waned is more down to the psychological as opposed to the physical aspect. In that case, age is on his side and he might learn to get over it eventually and build confidence in his legs. The fact he played a fair amount last season is encouraging in that regard. Also, there are other facets to his game and he's an intelligent player. As long as he remains off the treatment table, if he doesn't end up getting that explosiveness back I still don't think he would completely flop here.
Eventually might……probably wouldn’t completely flop…..psychological problems……right up Spursy Street…..having a laugh mate…..😵💫

People are making out like Lo Celso is the second coming of Gascoigne.

He's shown flashes of brilliance in pre-season, but we're still yet to see a consistent level of performance from him in 4 years.

Why would he also want to be a rotation option at Spurs over Barca? It's quite clear that Maddison is first choice.

I'd be more than happy to keep him, but I don't think he's as unsellable as other people think.
I don't think the concerns stem from Lo Celso being "unsellable", but from the idea of us selling our second-choice CAM (back-up for Maddison, who is currently injured!), in order to sign a fifth LW (we already have Son, Perisic, Solomon & Gil). Whichever player you rate more highly, it's a simple matter of having a balanced squad.

Is it realistic to think that Fati could be a key player for us this season? No, because he plays in the same position as Son, who has just been made team captain. He'd also be battling with Perisic (who's looked effective at LW in pre-season + the opening two games) and Solomon (who looks promising) just to be second-choice.

Is it realistic to think that Lo Celso could be a key player for us this season? Yes, because Maddison (our only other recognised CAM) is currently injured and can't play every single match when fit anyway. He could also provide cover in the slightly deeper no.8 role, which could be very useful indeed when two of our CMs are away at the AON (especially if Bentancur's recovery doesn't go to plan).

I'm only saying this here because I don't see a Fati thread yet - he can play anywhere up front, including as a striker. He has predominately been played on the left but he started his career as a striker. He is right footed so cuts in from the left but he could play on the right and go on the outside. He is also one of the most naturally talented young players in world football. If he can stay fit (obviously a big if) we should be all over this in my opinion.

Gio is also historically unreliable. He’ll also be playing his first competitive game for us in 18 months this weekend. He’s looked good in pre-season but I’d say he’s very much still in the expendable camp. Also think Deki could be suited to that advanced 8 role so swapping Gio out for a wide forward isn’t totally non-sensical.
I really struggle with the statement Kulu could play centrally. There is zero evidence of this at Spurs and to be brutal he is struggling to hold down his own position.
