Holtby and Siggy do play the same positions though. Its just that for some stupid reason, he's played on the left instead of playing his normal position in central midfield/#10.

You do know that Modric played as the left midfielder - same position as Erikssen does now

Then it's odd we're getting this shrieking hysteria over someone who's just 'pretty good', isn't it?

Perhaps, but I still think he's better than pretty good. I watched him enough at Schalke to form my own opinion on him and I know what he can do when played in the right position.

so the two players deemed not good enough for us are going to clubs in much better shape than us

and considering Juve wants Lamela ......

really not good enough :)

We had a record points hauls with AVB

Points dont disguise the fact that first half against Palace was the worst football seen at the Lane for many a year.

A whole week on the training feild with Timmeh and they all look like strangers. Yes I have an agenda against that gooner scum.

Would have to disagree. Because I can remember just 4 weeks earlier against Liverpool. That was a worse first half, but the difference being Tim was able to turn them around at half time, we actually regressed even more second half that game, ending up with us having our worst result at home for 16 years, 3 weeks after our worst away result for 16 years.

And with the same players Tim has so far got us gaining a point extra per game, scoring more than double and conceding half of what AVB did this year, on a per game basis. Yes it's early but results are encouraging.

Get over it, AVB has gone.

It's been seven games and he's lost two of them to West Ham & Arsenal, the latter of which because he was too fucking stubborn to put on Capoue when we were screaming out for a DM. You'll probably say "he's inexperienced, he makes mistakes", which is fair enough. But that's exactly why I don't want him as our manager. Because he's inexperienced and makes mistakes. We've just had to sack a promising manager who had more credentials than Sherwood despite spending £100m on him six months ago (which I'm not going to go into now) , and now we seem to be going through ANOTHER transition with a man who's done nothing to deserve it, and either we'll stay the course and end up decimating this good squad in favour of Harry favourites or we'll get van Gaal or someone in, nd have ANOTHER transition.

I mean in the sense that he's another Redknapp, and I fucking hated Redknapp by the time he left.

I don't like him because I don't think he's a good manager, because he's just Harry 2 but somehow with less experience, because he comes across a complete buffoon in interviews, because his style of football isn't anywhere near sustainable, because he seems intent on shipping out players he's not given a chance to, because he's the exact opposite of what this squad needs to succeed.

And yes it doesn't help that he's a Gooner.
And AVB didn't make mistakes :ROFLMAO:

Are you forgetting we lost 0-3, 0-5 and 6-0 THIS season under AVB and turned WHL into a ground for other clubs to get 3 points quite easily.

Yes but he's not our manager so what's your point?

Sherwood/Ramsey are partners in managementr, so the point is that AVB was an assessor when AVB took some of his UEFA badges to qualify as manager, and AVB was failed first time.

So the point is that Sherwood relies upon Ramsey for tactics/formations etc who is far more experienced than AVB.

So the point is that the Master (in the shape of Ramsey) has succeeded the Apprentice (BVB)....and much of the rest of your post poses its foundation and falls apart.

Holtby has previously said though that he sees himself as a deep lying CM rather than a No. 10, which puts him in direct competition with Dembele, Paulihno, Capoue and now Bentaleb and Carroll.

I like Holtby and don't really want to see him sold but everyone is going far too OTT about him.

So your only argument in support of Sherwood is "at least he isn't AVB!"

A list of other people who also "aren't AVB": Alan Curbishley, Alan Pardew, Mr. Blobby, the inanimate carbon rod, this pack of bon bons I'm eating. I don't want any of them as manager either.

Losing 0-5 to Liverpool was far worse.

He's gooner scum????? My Dad was a gooner when he was a kid but when he grew up he became a massive spurs fan. TS was a fucking kid who was probably told that he was an Arsenal fan. Fucking Hell.

Still curious why we wouldn't loan him first and let the next coach who is hopefully a long-term option evaluate the squad and decide who can stay and who can go. I'd trust a coach like LVG's evaluation over Sherwood's any day.

If Sherwood really is only a stop gap till the summer then it's ludicrous to be doing much business this month. It's not as if we haven't had enough new players to integrate this season, and that hasn't exactly worked a treat so far. Defoe, fine, if he wanted to go and Toronto offered a good whack for a 31 year old then no way is Levy going to say no.

But allowing a man who will only be in charge for another four months, if that is the case, shape the squad would be pretty foolish.

So Ramsey has more coaching kudos, we know this, the assessor of the assessors. But the only club he's managed before is Charleston Battery, so forgive me if I'm abasing myself for him - and also he's not front and centre, is he? NBDT is.

We are playing better football under TS and he's only had a few weeks.

You only dislike Sherwood because he was a gooner as a kid.

Losing 0-5 to Liverpool was far worse.

It was only worse because Liverpool can actually put the ball in the net. Performance wise, the first half against Palace was about as wretched as we've been all season.

Suarez > Jason Puncheon, wouldn't you agree?
