Morning
God, it's exciting isn't it? SC lurches from euphoria to doom several times a day as we're engulfed by the prospect of a mega signing shiny new striker tantalisingly within our grasp, yet each time we reach for it, the hand of fate withdraws it another inch or two. Will he or won't he?
Will he sign?
Will Levy get it done?
It's so close.......Isn't it?
It's absolutely thrilling stuff. Hilarious stuff too as reactions range from one extreme to the other.
Nerves are fraying. The battle lines are being drawn. The BSoDL and the anti-Levyites are cock jousting as we all wait to see what happens with Soldado.
The battle is sure to be messy. However, it's a battle that will only be fought if we fail to sign Soldado.
Casual watchers await with interest to see the line the BSoDL take if such a failure happens. What will their excuse/justification be this time? Could it possibly provoke some changing of allegiances and we see BSoDL stalwarts breaking rank to join the anti-Levyites? We're SO close to smashing our transfer record, what are the implications of that? OF another failure? One thing is for sure. It's going to be messy.
Of course, it's entirely possible that we actually do the deal. Then the whole thing goes away. Game Set and Match to the BSoDL. Anti-Levyites joining the BSoDL en masse. The end of seeing posters running frantically through the thread, waving their choppers around and bumping into eachother. For at least three hours anyway.
One thing is for certain though. The current feeling of woe which is infecting SC will change to a euphoric high. At some point this morning there will be a snippet of ITK, a media story somewhere or some other piece of information that will arrive and result in scenes of celebration akin to those last seen on VE Day in 1945. It'll probably not last long as the rollercoaster of bi polarity lurches from high to low.
Signing Soldado just means so much on so many levels. From SC's perspective, It would unite the site (briefly) and result in much Levylove. Spurs fans everywhere would be putting on their replica shirts and have that extra swagger as they walk down the road.
Come on Spurs. Erase the memories of recent windows. The taunting yellow ticker on SSN telling us we've signed Moutinho. Or Leandro. Don't add another name to the list of players we thought was 'done' only to have our vinegar strokes interrupted as the cold hard reality of it hits home.
Get it done. Record transfer, record jizz levels. The alternative is too bitter to contemplate.
