Thing is I don't think we are under pressure to sell Bale. He will still be worth a fortune next season and I'm sure real will still be interested. If we can bring in his replacement now, play the both of them this year, it would really soften the blow, especially if Halilovic was to come in next summer..

Not long to wait and see now.

Lamela is an interesting one if Gareth stays and it does make me wonder if we'll delay the implementation of the 4-3-3 for a season and continue with the 4-2-3-1. Simply because I doubt we could fit both him and Bale into the formation. Something like this?

Lamela hmm. Obviously its a very exciting prospect - and I know you could view it that we are getting him in now with the idea being Bale is sold next summer.

But given what we've already done this window it just seems to good to be true.

Personally, I was really hoping we would get one more season out of Bale - that to me is the biggest news of all.
