I'm sure DL made false promises to AVB, then changed his mind when it came to biting the bullet.

Levy may be many things (short, bald, etc!) but I'm pretty sure he's not a liar.
He's a damn good businessman and you can't make false promises in business. Yeah, he fucks people over, just ask Fergie but you don't fuck over someone that you're about to hand the task of running your club.
He's made mistakes too, I'll not deny that but football in a very unique market.

If all this toy throwing is down to failing to get Moutinho last window, it's a bit churlish IMO.

holtby is a daniel deal we all know that and fryers deal was suspect , Why did he sack harry then if he isn't gonna back avb . We all know he is putting the kitty aside for the stadium .

He wouldn't even attend the transfer meetings and refused to take part in frustration at not getting his players.
Threatened to quit too.

Kinda makes sense of the Moutinho deal nearly happening in the end.

I reckon Levy went through the motions with that one, then shammed it at the very end. He never wanted to spend that money, but wanted it to look like he was backing AVB so as to keep everything sweet.
