I know January transfer windows are usually crap but this one is taking the p*ss. Ighalo the biggest signing of deadline day is laughable. AND Sky are trying to hype it up!

January is always difficult. To be honest if someone deserves blame for our striker situation it’s Poch. Didn’t renew Llorente, and has never sought to adequately find back up for Kane.

the best we could get in January would be sub par, and in my opinion not worth doing. Rather plan for the future and buy properly than be stuck with another player we don’t want.

To be fair to the club, even they couldn't be bothered with the "at least we tried" big signing story. They said ah bollocks to it and called it off by 10 in the morning.

Yep lets blame the person who isn't here and repeatedly said he wasn't in charge of contracts.

Could be worse, could be the Chavs - Transfer Ban lifted, no real signings for ages & sign no-one. Take the silver linings where I can get them!!

He would of been comfortable playing Son and Moura and giving Troy a chance, he never relied on one system that needed a target man. Has soon has Levy employed Jose he should of been aware that Jose needed a target man back up, none of this is on Poch.

With Poch and his system he was quite happy using Son a lot of the time and if he wasn’t then why didn’t Levy get him a striker he felt was acceptable (ie not Llorente)?

Mourinho generally likes target men thus it’s a different situation and probably more important with how he plays.

I find it strange how Piatek is described as ‘meh’...

...but he’s seen as less than ‘meh’ by one of the greatest strikers our club has ever seen (Klinsmann)..

...that seems to suggest that he is slightly less than ‘meh’ IMO... for a paltry £23m, paid by the 8th richest club in the world.

Not dissing your inside & footballing knowledge Herc (I know nothing about Piatek) - it just confuses me.

The person who was in charge for 5 years and let the team get into this shape? Yeah he has to take some of the blame. Especially with the youth players. It's refreshing to see so many going out on loan over the last few days, it's an area that Poch absolutely neglected.

Pretty good window in my opinion, getting young promising players in, securing Lo Celso and getting shot of the bad energies of Rose and Eriksen.
Realistically there weren't any forwards that we could really stick our neck out.
If Son can revive his form then we could kick on.

Half full looking - we got our promising youngsters some good loan deals, they’ll play competitive football which is massive and ultimately makes the decision as to whether they are good enough (Kane somewhat of an exception in that area).

bought a quick winger, and made LD Celso (Eriksen replacement) perm.

reasonable.

striker situation difficult, precious stunts of Kane being injured Son has picked up the goal front, this time not so much but it will have to do!

COYS, we got this!

I'm usually pro Enic and Levy and this window couldn't be called a disaster, we shipped out some deadwood and made 2 potentially excellent signings. But you can't tell me there isn't a single available striker in world football who would be an improvement on Lucas ghosting through 90 minutes. It's rubbish to be honest.

The youth player thing has literally nothing to do with the point made even if I do agree with you. The guy talked about wanting a painful rebuild and as others have pointed out he always adapted to where he could use Son or Moura uptop yet it's somehow his fault that Jose doesn't have the specific type of striker he needs to succeed. Not the guy who recruited the manager who plays this specific way, was in charge of contracts and tasked with recruiting players.
