I think Carroll needs to go out on loan and we need the 6th Mid to be more of a DM (hence why I picked Can as he is a DM that can also plat AM & CB).
As for Lee Trundle, I heard he will only move to a club in the CL.
Anyone else find it so strange the dearth of ITK on Chadli despite so many news reports stating it's close?
I'm not sure I want us spunking any money on a sixth choice midfielder
what's the point of our academy and world class training center if we can't promote a 6th choice midfielder from within
Gards said he was shown round with Benteke.
Siggy off the left I think would work down to a tee. I know at times he looked awkward there but he has all the right attributes minus the pace to cut in off the left side and score 10 + goals a season.
Also agreed on Holtby, everyone looks someone with passion but at times he was like a kid on a school yard; needs to channel the energy into something productive.
It's strange; ITK, media stories & good old fashioned thinking for myself leads me to a genuinely tiny shortlist of players that might want to come to Spurs, adapt quickly and improve our forward line. The striker is going to show us how much Levy trusts Baldini.
To be fair, it seems the fact that we came so close to Villa showed that he is trusting him
Levy has never really put much stock in strikers unless they had a proven record in the Prem. And when he has done it, they have had been problematic. Berbatov's departure was a nightmare. And Pavs never seemed to adapt as we would have hoped. Postiga didn't quite come off the way we hoped and Mido was okay. But even he was a loan to begin with. I sometimes think past links with Spanish strikers were more PR than real. But maybe the interest was legit but Levy just couldn't bring himself to spend dosh on a foreign stiker.
So Benteke is Levy's comfort zone. If Baldini finds somebody else and convinces Levy to let go of his security blanket, it will be massive.
I could be wrong but didn't JJ hint at this as well in a post? That's really been it, though. Usually at least 2-3 would jump on and provide some input. And, you'd think that if he were shown around there'd be ITK aplenty.

I see your point but this guy is in the last year of his contract and has told Bayern he is going to leave, so he wouldn't cost that much.
I also don't see who we could promote that could do a good job as a DMC.

he's probably leaving Bayern to play 1st team footy not come sit on our bench waiting for Sandro, Paulinho or Dembele to get injured
Didn't someone else denied that?? That Benteke is on vacation?
Just said pretty much exactly the same in the Benteke thread.. "I'm a lone voice (I know that, in this instance) but I wouldn't be at all disappointed if we go to Crystal Palace & have a front 3 of Sigurdsson, Adebayor, Bale... I'm not just saying it, Sigurdsson is best in the final third, NOT on the bloody wing. Give him a goal opportunity & I'm confident he'll take it (or hit the woodwork lol).. He is very underrated by too many supporters."
He would get plenty of games with us. His problem at Bayern is that he is something like 9th choice.

I think Sig was a bit underrated last season, he had some rough games but I'd much rather him on the field in any situation than Defoe or Dempsey, he can get goals as well as they do but can also actually play. I think he'd be best as a central AM with a decent striker ahead of him, but he's not a terrible wing forward option and I'd rather him play striker than Defoe.
